Hi!

BlackFriday arrived and OVH has interesting limited editions now. SSD disk spaces jumped up both on SYS and KS, however, lucky people got 920 GB SSD instead of 800 in the past year so KS-LE-1 worse than past year's.

Post YABS results. Anyone got higher HW (bw, SSD ecc.) than advertised?

Actually its 1gig downstream, 1gig internal.
If you are lucky its also 1gig upload.

But yea the setup fees are killing it.

Some servers are limited to 100M or 250M, both upload and download, it’s a roulette

  • OVH has once again brought out its antique hardware and is charging you a hefty installation fee.

  • I'm a bit surprised they announce DDR4 on the KS-LE-1 because that CPU is not supposed to support DDR4.

and also if they really use ECC RAM.

Anyone who orders a KS-LE-1 or KS-LE-2, please check the RAM for model and ECC support. Thank you.

  • Well, 100 Mbps. I am gonna wait for the bench then

KS-LE HDD had ECC, none of my KS-LE SSD have ECC.

Possible, KS1 always only had 100M.
Usually though its 1000M/1000M/100M if OVH didn't break the matrix.

Maybe its Rack related, older Setups might have different hardware.

And that's why I'm not sure to trust what they offer atm.

But they did not announced ECC Ram in the last rounds of KS offers.... so I'm really curious if this changed this time @ninzo59

  • The setup fees..... :'(

As far as I remember, the original KS-LE with a Xeon E5 had a proper server motherboard which could take ECC RAM, whereas the E3 ones all had a desktop motherboard which didn't support ECC.
Would be interesting to know what kind of HW these new KS-LE-* come with.

Also seeing SYS-LE offers with 500mbit announced, that at least would be nice if true.

(to be precise: SYS-LE-1 says 250mbit but SYS-LE-3 says 500mbit)

  • 100M shared……

  • Server setup fees & <500M network :| Next

  • North America, Canada, Beauharnois (BHS)
    North America, Canada, Canada (CA)

    Any differences for SYS-LE-1 locations?

  • I look forward to the arrival of automation, which should eliminate setup fees,... oh, wait...

All the servers are automated allocation, it does not need to have setup fees

The CPU's are from 2013 and older!

Where do you see that it is shared? With OVH the quality of 100M that you get tends to be good, so it can be seen as dedicated, always full 100M speeds and there is no problem if you use it all 24/7.

At the time, it was a shared port for kimsufi range.
Today, I think there's little risk of falling below 100mbps.

  • For new customers there's a promo code to waive the installation fees: BFSETUP

That should negate all the comments about costly installation fees

    Is this "Intel Xeon E5-1620v2"?

  • No EPYC vps deals!?

  • @loay said: Is this "Intel Xeon E5-1620v2"?

adns just quoted ovh - so ovh invented a new cpu by intel... :)

It looks as if about any information about those deals is not to be trusted at all....

@Maounique once had a perfect description about ovh, unfortunately I cannot find it atm.
