It seems that the advertised prices are for a one-year commitment, right?
yes
With the one-year commitment and the setup fees you can a better deal from Hetzner auction. Even their last limited sales were better than this.
No commitment for Kimsufi
Or a piece of luggage or an umbrella, if you are lucky, you may get a server.
Where do you see the commitment?
Hello
About KS-LE-1/2/3, those are DDR3 no-ecc, and not DDR4 ECC as displayed.
About E3-1620v2 > E5-1620v2 indeed
About multi-datacenter in KS/SYS, it will be switched back to FR/CA only
Fix incoming tomorrow
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Actually it is on some of the servers, this is KS-12 with the 64GB DDR4 ECC
Actually, it's not. There's no price difference between paying for one month or 12.
Some of them requires the 12 months commitment
So I got a KS-LE-1 in GRA to test it.
As I expected, it's a desktop motherboard, RAM is not ECC. The SSDs are oldish and the advertised size (480GB). Network speed is the advertised 100Mb download but 1000Mb upload.
That concludes the test. I'm not too excited.
You sure it's not the other way round?
Already ordered servers kept at the selected DC, am I right? I ordered a SYS-LE-1 in SBG.
Hmm, it seems that you replaced the UL/DL. Ul is 100 Mbps and DL is 1000. I not see any YABS, I hoppe that IPv6 speed unlocked on most of KS-LEs.
I keep my KS-LE-1 from the past BF and I ordered a SYS-LE-1 that much better than the 2022 edition. 2x2 TB NVMe is avesome. 250 Mbps ul better than 100, however, I hoppe that once OVH will forgot the speed limits in low-end range.
Sorry, yes, UL 100, DL 1000.
Are the setup fees to get a small fire extinguisher right next to your server?
Ordered 2 , SYS-LE-1 , one in GRA and one in RBX , both came with kvm
one is zfs raid0 and other is zfs raid1
and 2nd.
I see that they have some discounts on VPS too. Which one is better to get? The regular one or Limited Edition?
Not very exciting this year, Hetzner auction PX62 (Xeon E-2[12]76G) has taken the lead compared to SyS boxes, and that comes without yearly commitment or setup fees. Also iGPU, gigabit, faster NVMe's, better support etc
Even the Kimsufi boxes are questionable value compared to Oneprovider, which also comes without setup fees or commitment. But in fairness Kimsufi comes with proper hardware support
However Hetzner NVMes smaller than SYS-LE-1 and in my feeling peering better at OVH. I bought a SYS-LE-1 in SBG, except the 250 Mbps upload limit I do not have any problem with it.
And Hetzner in strict law Germany.
This is amazing with the nvme disks!
Rise-GAME-1 looks decent value with the Black Friday sale, anyone have yabs from this machine?
What GRA & RBX DCs did you end up in?
What model are the NVMes out of interest?
I got same NVMes too. Solid speeds. I got Intel SATA SSDs in my 2022 KS-LE-1 and I experience good speeds too. Samsung PM models a bit better but this type is very rare.
On debian 12 with the default ovh installtion.
The good news is that there is no setup fee when you use their promo code ('BFSETUP')
Sorry for the confusion. OVH's public bandwidth description was a bit unclear, especially with private bandwidth in the mix. I understand it better now. My bad, it's the first time I've seen such a description.
Checked the VPS Limited plans, but consider, paying more upfront instead of monthly. The p> @COLBYLICIOUS said:
The regular edition has up to 50% reduction depending the ordered duration up to 24m + 6m free automatic backups. But you have lower specs.
The Limited Edition getting only 1 month reduction, thats the price you would pay for 24m anyway, so its not a big deal.
If someone could compare, there is no real reduction for 12/24m.
