I mean, it's not like it's that hard.

It being easy in theory dosen’t mean that there’s not many mistakes to be made before you can do it well

  • the absence of feedback by satisfied users so far

would be hard for 'satisfied user' to appear legit and trustworthy, given the many shady uses this service is mostly targeting

    That’s a matter of perspective.

Is scraping the web or serp shady for example?

If so, Semrush and Ahrefs are very shady, because they’re both massive businesses that require proxies to fundamentally exist.

  • For the sake of the curiosity of this thread can you let us know the process in which someone may apply to be a residential upstream and/or some sort of proof that there is a process for payments or partnership existing? @Proxies

  • Can someone skim hackforums for quick verification that these services are not advertised there? Just to be on a safe side... Socksescort, 911 socks and various proxies burned me to much :(

Just seems like they're mentioned which isn't really on them. The website above is a different one, but also 11 years ago

  • I think linking to that hack place is not acceptable, I am confused though.
How did this, bypass this in rules? Unless I am misunderstanding, I do that a lot.

    In the LET rules

We do not allow discussions of how to commit illegal activities such as DDoS attacks, spamming, hacking, etc. Threads on these subjects will be closed and removed. Discussion of defense against these acts are welcome.

Just to be clear - that list of subjects includes traffic exchange, residential proxies

There's no proof of this being illegal. At least for now.

What's too late? They've been around the block in this specific business for a very long time. Even longer than majority of the providers here.

Longevity of service does not indicate legitimacy or ethics. Here is article about nice proxy selling establishment https://krebsonsecurity.com/2022/06/meet-the-administrators-of-the-rsocks-proxy-botnet/ . There is even photo of employees. What a nice "family".

Are you able to prove or provide proof that these are illegitimate or illegal? If you can, I'm sure we can bring this to the attention of the moderators of this forum.

I will do nothing. Just heads up regarding this forum own rules and user awarenes of "residential proxies".

    Hi!

Please send me a PM with your account username, we will gladly provide you with test Proxies.

    Thank you!

  • Thank you

Proxies seem to be not hacked. No signs were detected.

    Anti-frauds detected all tested proxies

antifraud #1 (DC mean datacenter, if no DC, but IP only, then resi was detected anyway)

    antifraud #2 - also detected

cloudflare- bypasses on maximum security, no captchas

antifraud #3 - some were not detected

    this one is good

FP is mostly linux (with ability to guess proxy), sometimes windows and macos.

    these are good

Overall suitable proxies for some tasks, but pricy imho. Could be cheaper.

    Feels a bit slow.
    Suitable for most tasks.

But luminati & oxy resi are better.

here are examples from lum resi network:
