I think this is custom VPS plan, i don't whether it's KVM or LXC. As i have benchmarked WebHorizon VPS before https://kangserver.id/benchmark-vps-webhorizon-2-core-amd-4gb-ram-harga-9-99-usd-2023. That was using AMD Ryzen 5900X and KVM VPS plan.

That's most likely the discounted (BF?) PLXC-32G in NL (maybe) with the 50% extra CPU, disk and bandwidth (45TB).

Subject: Scheduled Maintenance for Permanent Fix of IPv4 Network Issues on LXC Services
    Hi ,

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you about an upcoming scheduled maintenance action on 1st May, 2023, which will begin at 11:00 AM GMT and end at 11:00 PM GMT.

As you may recall, at the start of April, we experienced some issues over IPv4 network on our LXC services, which caused inconvenience to all our clients. While a temporary fix was applied, we have been working to implement a permanent solution to prevent such issues from happening in the future.

We are pleased to announce that a permanent fix is now available, and we will be moving all our services to our own physical hardware in Norway with 10G port speeds. This will provide a more stable and reliable infrastructure, ensuring that our clients can continue to enjoy uninterrupted service with us.

The scheduled maintenance action is necessary to facilitate the move to our own physical hardware. IPv4 shall remain the same, however due to technical reasons IPv6 will change.
We understand that any service interruption can be inconvenient, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our team will work diligently to minimize any disruption to your services during this maintenance period.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. If you have any questions or concerns about the scheduled maintenance action, please feel free to reply this support ticket.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

    Respectfully,
    Abdullah W.

They trying to fix thing. Sunday mid-day e-mail (that went to spam) that Monday shit gonna be down for 12 hours. Good luck Abdullah, but this is too much for me.

10 minutes to end of 12 hours scheduled (24h earlier, lol) maintenance window. Have you noticed anything changed @srch07 ? Because my ssh session is still working, IPv6 is from Hetzner, ping did not change, uptime seems to be 55 days.

Same. Didn't see any dowtime. Feels like got postponed?

Its the PLXC-32G VPS (45TB), Netherlands. Tbh it works really well and it's probably the best vps I ever purchased in terms of specs. The only reason I'm selling is due to the network issues that may or may not happen. While I understand issues may arise with any provider, it's become unsustainable for me to offer services to my clients via webhorizon as the customer service he once provided is no longer the same.

More like "we forgot" - if things would be postponed they would send another e-mail/ticket, right? :D
But hey, at least FreeVPS.org have a new location in Tokyo via WebHorizon.

    EDIT
and we offline. Seems like there is no difference between 2nd of May and 1st of May. Fucking lmao.

There is a chance I lied - 3 hours later things are back... still in Hetzner. Maybe it was migration attempt, maybe it was just outage. Who knows. ^.-

  • It is concerning given I got a long-term plan with them, but throughout this time, I've seemingly had no downtime on my VPS.

But I really hope the control panel becomes more stable, especially because there is no support given to NAT VPS.

I can assure you we have many clients with active services working just fine in SG, JP and other regions.
More than 70% kvm vps clients renewed their annual subscription this year which shows the service seems working for them.

this is a limited set of LXC services seeing the frequent downtime because of a 'tunnelled' network setup. I completely accept the responsibility for selling this initially was a bad idea.

We are working on getting these moved to native setup as soon as possible after which these should get stable as our other locations have been https://status.webhorizon.net/
and also extend the renewal dates for affected clients.

I hope this clears up soon :)

@srch07 Have you got any communication after the migration-that-never-happen 4 days ago? Any explanation, sorry, new timeline, anything?

or seen anything adjusted for renewal days? Because this is like 2nd time I am reading this and nothing has ever changed for my renewal days.

Maybe I am on wrong LXC? Do you use the new panel aka clients. in URL or the legacy one on client.?

I would just like to mention we did not forget about this , there have been delays with BGP session set up by the NOC staff which caused us to miss the earlier maintenance timeline.

We are also getting two new AMD EPYC nodes shipped to Singapore.
Also one node in Frankfurt should be live by next week. (no tunnel)

We will likely offer three options to affected clients -

    1. Move to a KVM plan at no additional costs.
    2. Keep with the LXC plan
    3. Cancel the service & get a prorated refund.

Renewal dates will be extended after this change completes.
We will send another email once these options are finalized. the existing servers should remain online till then.

Got your email today that my NAT VPS in FRA1-DEU should be up and running with a new IP and Server.

Changed the login to the new IP, but I can not login. The dashboard says it is online but with zero CPU load.

Would be nice to being able to use it again after almost a month downtime. :)

    Port is also the different.
    Check here: https://my.webhorizon.net/plugin/support_manager/knowledgebase/view/3/nat-ipv4-ports-calculator-ovz/

I was also moved to the new FRA1-DEU and in my case everything work except ... IPv6, which is somehow unfortunate as that's IPv6/NAT vps :)
At some point I gave up and reinstalled OS, but still no luck. Most likely something misconfigured on their side.

Yearly pre-paid NAT VPS, I guess.

  • @Mumbly said:

Yep, and only in use for some rclone and wireguard. So it is not really life threatening when it is not up and running 24/7 and no need to get upset about the few dollars given away.
Gullos NAT VPS are up and running fine. :)

Ok, I only tested ipv6 (and ipv4 on the old ports, would then have to reconfigure mosh and firewalls.)
The incomplete list of running services plus with CPU load zero, had stopped to dig deeper.
As I need/want ipv6 connectivity, I will just have to wait a bit longer.

Guess what other service has gone down too?

Bingo, it's Cloud-V that @Abd is still denying all knowledge of despite it being registered in his name!

denying? I thought he openly promoted it as a sub brand at one point.

In the initial announcement he said it was a sub-brand. Later, he said that it was run by his brother. That got downgraded to "separate business owned by another member of the family". And after that, they started denying that there was any connection at all. Then @CloudV stopped visiting the forum at all.

That's going to be awkward at family get togethers.

    Hey all,

We have acknowledged an IPv6 issue on our Germany node and are working on a fix.

Please force ipv4 connections in your vm's in the meantime.

We will post an update once we fix v6 on our DE location.

@Arkas did @jbiloh comment on my issue?

I don't see any comments. Perhaps it's best to apply for one, it's quick for a HR.

  • Is any one having trouble accessing the control panel? Thought might as well ask here since the support is non existent.

NatVPS Germany node has been seeing some kernel issues since yesterday and is unable to boot now. We're working on it.

@Abd - Now I notice there are 2 panels with Webhorizon.

    1. What is the difference?
    2. Are customers being migrated from one client area to another?
    3. Will a future migration affect the existing services or configurations such as 2FA?
