    Have you met The Internet?!?

Yes. I am well acquainted with many sides of the internet.

If your point is that the internet can be a mean scary place, I know. This website does not have to be like that, but some LowEndTalk members seem to prefer it that way.

Sometimes LowEndTalk reminds me of doctors and others who were forced to go through abusive internships to complete their training. They somehow feel that since they were abused and survived it, they should be abusing the new interns the same way - it seems only fair and it worked for them. They abuse the interns even though they knew it was wrong then and they know it now too.

Sometimes LowEndTalk reminds me of engineers who don't like to share their knowledge with others on their team, like old medieval guilds that keep secrets so outsiders cannot know how to do what they do. They had to dig and scrape and work to learn how to manage servers, and they are not a teacher, so everyone must dig and scrape and work to learn what they could so easily share. Don't steal my job!

Sometimes LowEndTalk reminds me of bullies who pick on the weak kids on the playground, the ones who need the most comfort and support.

LowEndTalk can evolve and change, but I doubt it will happen. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

Signed up to start investigating probable shell companies used to hoard IPs across a specific ASN through the mid 2010's.

    EDIT: plus dank memes.

This deal. I actually had a great experience with CVPS when others seemed to hate it. Sucks the brand is almost non existent these days as it does have a soft spot for cheap reliable hosting (from my personable experience).

I'm not sure how I ended up finding LET back then, but I am very happy I did. Got to know some awesome people here. It would appear that this was my first comment.

....and my first thread (December 2015):

Kinda surprised my first VPS from here was from Backupsy. I always thought my first VPS here was from Ricky ABC Hosters.

oh that it might be very interesting,i would like to meet some awesome people ,too

Are there any interesting or unforgettable story?

A client told me about a website called LowEndBox in 2008 that was a marketplace for openvz vps. At the time I hardly knew what openvz even was (really only being familiar with VMware at the time).

wow,2008 ,it might be historical.i was a little boy then.

I was searching offers for a VPS to create relays of an online radio project, for which I was already using OVH RPS (Real Private Server) at the time, but it was a bit too spicy in price. An offer from BlueVM [ @bluevm ] popped on my search engine, and those OVZ servers helped me at the time. Later I got VPN offers from VPN.SH [ @vpnsh ], I got VPS offers from AboveClouds [ @jacob ], and other VPS offers from different providers based on ColoCrossing, therefore LET kind of grew on me... slowly.

Nowadays BlueVM is gone, VPN.SH is gone, AboveClouds is gone, others are gone, but LET remained as witness throughout history for the rise and downfall of many (including admins).

CVPS is still around. Maybe they will reappear with new fresh deals in the future.

Well, I did not get to know LET so far. I am not even part of Islam, so most likely if I would meet them, I will die. I hope to never meet LET during my lifetime in this infinite universe.

  • From WHT. Somebody mentioned the forum there back in the day when the the forums were more active.

I liked a lot the technical discussions, people helping each other with legit scenarios and not stuff that can be googled immediately. While it was a lot about the "get more for 7" there were some folks in the community that really were innovating in the industry.

I amused that my first ever post on LET was asking for a cheaper VPS than those available at the time.
