Bye Hetzner! We won't miss you.

Hetzner, like any other company in the world, has to maintain its margins according to its requirements. It is normal for a customer to walk away from a supplier that does not meet their requirements. So it's no big deal, business as usual.
Perhaps you just don't need to announce your disappointment to the world with such pathos.
The cost of wholesale electricity has increased. These costs will be passed on by the majority of legit sustainable cloud providers.
Which is retarded if you think about it given how clean nuclear is.
Instead they'll now buy a bunch of oil from countries that hate them. I guess it's OK because all the environmental damage happens out of sight, out of mind.
Francisco
"Socialist ideology" you say? Quite strange you want the provider to keep subsidizing the server out of pocket.
Mainland Chinese are simultaniously the best and worst customers you could have.
As a provider based in Hong Kong, a significant portion of our business comes from China. A majority of them are just like customers from anywhere else in the world. ~65% or so are just your typical consumer, with no issues, normal use case, and perfectly acceptable. 10% are excellent, being customers with special needs, but are willing to pay a good price to get it. Low maintenance with high revenue, and high loyalty. But then you have the remaining 25%, who believe they are entitled to everything for free. Those are the customers who sign up to a NAT service with 1TB traffic, and expect to recieve a dedicated IP with 1Tbit/s of dedicated bandwidth, for which they should be able to use it all on their home 100Mbit broadband.
Those 25% make it difficult sometimes to justify serving the 75%.
that's how it is. at least in germany it is often enough like that. hypermoral, green socialist but basically just sick, inhuman ideology. besides, in germany and the eu they think they can regulate everything with money.
You have not understood my argument. the fact that electricity prices in germany are rising so sharply is due to the fact that the green socialists are now in power. and they will impose their ideology with all their might.
Did i miss something? Was there another price increase besides IP ?
Man! when did the green socialists came to power? what month or year? Let's start with that.
Nvm. I just found it in their forums. All SB Servers price increased up to 40 %. I'm happy that i began transferring all my stuff back to OVH. I really loved Hetzner. But yea. IP-Pricing + another increase for electricity? We're at OVH pricing now and they got DDoS-Protection and a better network.
Hey, you're not in the cest pit, neither are you an environmental scientist - quit ridiculing yourself
In case you haven't followed the news, electricity and oil prices also rise sharply in the neighboring Baguetteland - well known for its (quite obsolete) nuclear industry and "green socialist" Macron government (lol). But yeah, better host with Scaleway/Online than Hetzner. Oh wait, they just price-hiked (again) their products 3 weeks ago. Vive la France
Have you guys ever shopped for groceries at all? Too PMSing for dat?
Since Covid, general price has gone up at least 50%, in some cases over 150%.
Try not shopping for food.
Exactly! Over 70% of France electricity comes from nuclear, and yet, electricity price is going up too.
Bye MJJJJ.
Yes, promised! As soon as THE PRICE OF ELECTRICITY GOES D O W N ... IN GERMANY 🤣
(Sorry for this useless post, but this was the only really funny thing I've heard today.)
Is this the case with any other country besides China? Always going to have bad apples mixed in with the good apples.
Dumb equivocation again, if he thinks Chinese are annoying twats, it's his rights to reject those locusts
Of course. Every country has this problem, but the ratios differ.
There's definitely a cultural aspect to things, which I've noticed. Probably due to my own cultural biases, I find it easiest to deal with US, UK and HK customers. The group that comprise the 65% in China make up more like 85% in my culturally biased countries.
Lithuanian customers are problematic... as are Germans... Again... I mean that relatively speaking. The vast majority are perfectly fine, but I expect a higher proportion of them to be problematic than US/UK/HK customers. And again, it's probably cultural.
Thanks for your bye. Your cancelation fee has been doubled.
Too many politicians here.BBC needs you guys. And one more thing,I hope you will deal with the matter on its own merits. Why do you always elevate the affairs of one person to the affairs of the Chinese?Since I joined in this community,I have saw a lot here.No more politicians here plz.
fortunately, you can express a little bit of politics here without being locked away. so you can wish whatever you like, but you also have to put up with other people expressing themselves politically. @Franzkafka
I'll continue to use hetzner, heck I still want to buy their stock. They still have a strong position in the market.
No. CGTN needs you guys including OP.
FYI There's a storyteller campaign that suits you perfectly well
We've had enough stories, dramas from MJJs. Here's where you belong.

Or wolf wanker as we call it. Google 'wolf wanker' and check out first few hits.
He is not you babe, friend.
This is the price that we have to pay when saving the earth.
The world is being split into three major blocs, the green save the earth movement in europe, the capitalist war industry in the usa & the red communist cum capitalist xi dynasty.
& russian war
Perhaps they are selling so much electricity abroad to those green socialist moron states? EU electric grid is connected, all countries buy and sell, thus one country skyrocketing prices will increase price on another too.
well... as a fin, you can talk smart because electricity prices in finland are sensationally low compared to germany!
And the electricity certainly flows pretty quickly from Loviisa to Kerava.
