Check now, the disk performance should be better, the network is still the same
Maybe they are consolidating more customers onto a single node?
IIRC they stated that they were doing this to cut down on the U and power usage. I have no problem with the change in general, but I found the drop in disk/network performance affected the real world performance of my web site. Previously this was one of the best performing VPS that I had in any location. Now New York performs much better so I moved the web site there and am not using the Chicago server.
Emil did contact me today and is working to resolve the issue, which I have confidence will be taken care of shortly.
wow you got lucky, I got issue with network connection in NY as well, ticket created for 4+ weeks, no response. I think I am in bad luck
Oooof, yeah I see what you mean. Glad I could help.
Is there a way to know bandwidth utilization in the new panel cloud.hosthatch ?
I got my SG VPS in the morning. Now it's not accessible. Did anyone get this problem?
Not sure how long will they take to respond to the ticket?
Did you open the vps via console? Check the network configuration and connectivity?
Or it is only inaccessible via ssh?
I just got my Tokyo server, but the IP and network indicates that the server is in Hong Kong? I did some ping tests and it seems like Hong Kong servers have a lower latency compared to Japan servers. Not sure if there's an error or this is intended...
You aren’t the only one waiting this long for ticket response, I guess they are prioritising deliveries first, which makes reasonable business sense. It sounds like they have finished delivering all servers now so we should be getting a response soon
I do have less than 1ms latency to my other Japan servers.
We're almost done with delivering all the new servers.
If you have a pending server, it will be delivered before this week ends.
For the IP geolocation - please give it a few days. Different geolocation providers have different intervals when they update.
Routed IPv6 is now also completed, so we will start deploying it by tomorrow. This will increase the reliability of IPv6 and hopefully solve all the random IPv6 issues we've had since the past 10 years.
As you can imagine, the ticket queue is quite big at the moment, so please give us a few days to get it back to normal.
Thanks for sticking with us.
Routed IPv6 sounds great. Since this is finished, will there be a migration path now or will the "old" instances be able to take advantage of it too (I suppose not so because of Solus)?
wow, i completely missed the email i received two days ago for my Vienna based server.. here is a yabs:
I was able to access my VPS. I had installed everything and had moved one of my websites. The server is online now after ~3 hours.
@FrankZ why do i feel your getting the best of virmach hosthatch , lucky with free things ....
lucky bastard guy
you must be doing good things! .... well are you ?
Appreciate the update. Easier to stomach delays with more updates, certainly can't over update the crew here. Plenty of whiners here
Got an ipv6 after vps restart?
eth0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 103.x.x.x netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 103.x.x.x

or169.254.x.x
, automatically set up when IPv6 is enabled in the OS, and probably has your MAC address within the address. Pretty sure it does not come from DHCP. It's there for your networking use if you want, and doesn't mean any Internet routeable IPv6 is happening. https://blogs.infoblox.com/ipv6-coe/fe80-1-is-a-perfectly-valid-ipv6-default-gateway-address/#:~:text=Typically, link-local IPv6 addresses, the Interface IdentifierI am very grateful for the things that I have received from LET, as well as in life in general. Material and otherwise. Regarding the prizes won, I have kept some, and have passed some on to other deserving members who have not been as lucky. As a matter of fact I may have one for you. I'll PM you to see if you want it.
I also wanted to thank HostHatch (Emil) for resolving my Chicago NVMe disk speed issue and wanted to post a new YABS reflecting this change.
I am also working on a new free service that I will be discussing in a new thread soon.
to @FrankZ
Sydney VPS online this morning
ipv6 can be used, but it is unstable, and it drops after a while
Waiting for this to start installing my new VM's.
My AU/Sydney server is up, which was nice timing because my local server decided to be silly and made for a fun Friday night of bringing everything over to HostHatch.
Anywho, YABS:
Edit: it works after rebooting from panel and waiting for some time.
Has anyone setup ipv6 in STO region? ipv6 and private networking are enabled on the cloud panel. I referred their docs and setup ipv6 but it breaks the entire network.
https://docs.hosthatch.com/networking/#ipv6-configuration
@yoursunny didn't sign papers yet.
Still no delivery for Oslo server.
Does anyone know if the private network in the new cloud portal is across all data centers or only works at each location?
Pretty sure private network is limited to the single data center only and not across data centers
