Did you (also) try to install from iso?
Mount debian 11 netinst iso, and reboot your server, open console and process the installation.. only 7 minutes needed to install it. When the installation finished, unmount the iso and restart VPS
anybody from germany and encountering really bad download speeds from sweden storage servers and hosthatch sweden servers in general?
do you have a guide for the network config?
your file
/etc/network/interfaces
should look something like this:which means that by setting the netmask to 24 the ip of the gateway will be the same as your ip, but with a 1 in the end.
you could also use dhcp
It will use dhcp automatically, but after installation, you can change it to manual configuration, follow nobizle format for manual network configuration. The detail of IPv4, netmask, and gateway available on cloud.hosthatch.com
nope, doesn't work either....
I guess they allocated an already used IP, as I can still ping and try to open a SSH connection while the server is offline.
I've been a customer since 2017 and it's ALWAYS the same story.
They run a huge fucking sale after which the support is basically non existing anymore.
Then they state that the support will improve and this shouldn't happen again, but yea...
Every single year...
and in 2022 - here you are - still a customer - If its bothering you so much why would you continue with them?
PMS starting early in 2022 it seems!
for critical issues - my tickets have always been answered in a couple of hours average (weekends or weekdays).
For non-critical issues - its been slow and thats what should be expected.
And that means I can't express valid criticism..?!
nopes!
What kind of
doesn't work either
?Do you mean DHCP did not work?
So anyone looking to get ride of their storage server?
Whatcha looking for?
I wonder what changed since not long ago you criticized their support, perhaps hoping that customers would throw away their VPS just so you can snag one yourself later? Neat.
I do wish you good luck though
Anyone looking to let go of the 8GB KVM?
Yes indeed. Download speeds from a number of German locations I've tested are quite slow (30-40 Mbit/s).
I did one test from London, which was very fast (on the order of 1 Gbit/sec). I haven't closely studied the MTRs, so can't say for certain where the issue lies. But there definitely is one.
Yeah shitty support but great prices. Nothing's changed? I still stand by what i said.
Anything from 1 TB to 5TB to dump my backups on!
Backups? What is that?
Not that prem right now especially 4k...
not that good but still within HDD specs.
Here is a result from 12/31/2021:
And for now:
Not sure what happened but looks like something not good
Anyone know where 50GB missing??
I have just reserved 2GB for vswap btw
Well it is the time people starting migrate their data to new HH storage VPS.. just wait for two or three weeks, I believe it will be better..
tune2fs -m 0
however, read up on reserved space before you to decide to set it to 0% maybe rather go with 1-2%
To all people which don't like this service they got, please bear in mind this forum has a section called "Service Transfers".
Other LET members might wish to return your money spent, so they may have your service transferred to them. This way you won't have to cancel, or get bothered with refunds. It's a win-win-win.
This is the reply
tune2fs 1.42.12 (29-Aug-2014)
tune2fs: option requires an argument -- 'm'
Usage: tune2fs [-c max_mounts_count] [-e errors_behavior] [-g group]
[-i interval[d|m|w]] [-j] [-J journal_options] [-l]
[-m reserved_blocks_percent] [-o [^]mount_options[,...]] [-p mmp_update_interval]
[-r reserved_blocks_count] [-u user] [-C mount_count] [-L volume_label]
[-M last_mounted_dir] [-O [^]feature[,...]]
[-Q quota_options]
[-E extended-option[,...]] [-T last_check_time] [-U UUID]
[ -I new_inode_size ] device
yeah, sorry, obviously you need to specify the fs or partition... thought you'd understand that much ;-)
however, the 50GB missing is the default of 5% reserved space. you can set this to 0 or better at least 1% via tune2fs. you'll figure it out, I am sure...
I see that you eventually found out you were assigned a duplicate IP, but in the future, if you have console access, you would just boot into rescue mode and reset root password. Just google for "resetting root password from rescue".
