My VM is still up, why close thread? Of course, it is no longer about him being banned, but maybe we can just change title.

Of the nine I have access to some are completely dead (incl. NO), some have completely gone and "cociu reimbursed", and some are "zombie alive" that is, formally they are not dead but practically they are; SSH connecting to them is snail-slow and the download test works with none of the 18 targets.

I don't call those VMs 'up'. After all who needs practically useless zombie VMs?

Do you think HS has really had 383548 tickets in its history (my refund ticket #), or did he just start tickets at, say, number 360000?

    I honestly can't decide.

    Ticket ID is rand(), surely?

  • I'm hoping this thread stays open so I know when to start spending my credits lol

FWIW: My friend and colleague who is a HS customer since quite some years has ticket numbers between ca. 100000 and over 900000 and there is no particular (recognizable) order in the numbers. One in the low 100000 may well follow one in the 700000.

Cociu is running a support ticket lottery.
@Maounique won the first prize. His VM works.

  • guys HS is hardly dead. hardly alive either. withdraw all your monies YESTERDAY, but keep your services alive and abusive. That's the long game.

I'm amazed by what I see here, by HS VPSs said to be working. Out of the 9 systems I had access two only 2 aren't completely dead/reachable at all.
And those 2, with IPs right next to each other and also identical models I get different results.
One can ping and web ping only a bit less than half of the targets and complete zero downloads.
The other one also can ping and web ping only a bit less than half of the targets but can complete 2 downloads (from IT, Milano and from Turkey). Funnily this "better" one fails to even ping the romanian target,

From what I see it got even worse (one system less even working at all).

    Thanked by 1bdl

Isn't automation and/or automatic provisioning wonderful?

Yeah. Because it creates a happy family of all identical twins ...

  • And Norway is back online.....
Servers have continued running just not accessible (uptime 66 days so far).
Suppose you could look at the storage servers as WORN drives (Write Once Read None) or WORM (Write Once Read Monthly).

  • My Norway storage box is reachable again as well

  • Here's the server... not the server...

  • My Norway nodes are up again, probably I should spend all my credit on Norway nodes now...

or NSDT (Norwania Sysadmin Deletes Tikets)

  • I think people have finally given up and has so long ago @cociu.

Any other provider which can provide 2 TB vps for 45 dollar per Year package. Bandwidth minimum 2 TB. Just no U.S.A location. Won't bother if it's Ovz or older hardware. Rest no other requirements.

Confirmed. NO VPS is accessible normally (as opposed to snail slow) again. Also network is OK again. 1 failure (quite normal), 6 out of 7 european targets above 100 Mb/s, funnily the romanian target is only ca. 95 Mb/s.

Nice so far, but let's first wait whether it still works in say a month.

Sad side note: the oradea location still delivers failures on all targets.

Please avoid spamming this forum with such requests. This is the equivalent of being evil, in the current market, with Chia absorbing so much storage. It is literally impossible for any provider to offer so much storage with such a low price. These offers can't be created anymore, because the market is as it is, and storage got expensive, even though prices dropped a bit.

If, by some miracle, you see such extremely cheap offer, which ignores the Chia abuse, and also ignores the prices and predictions regarding storage; it means that such provider will deadpool, and YOU will be coming to complain on LET. This community does not deserve such person as a member, because either the person is a spamer/abuser with ridiculous requests, or the person is a spamer/abuser with ridiculous complaints. Sometimes we have to be honest, and accept the situation, or get the hell out.

Maybe, just maybe, but this is a HUGE MAYBE, something like this will come up on Black Friday, but even then price will be higher than $45 per year.

I understand I was making a request, I expected something to come by September 1 week from @cociu but he hasn't turned up, my old vps with him has drowned, so was looking for substitute, I didn't see Chia mining factor in my head. Agreed market has shit up.

  • to be fair chia netspace didn't really grow over the last few weeks anymore but rather stagnated. people seem to re-plot for pooling protocol, but I also doubt we will see a very big increase afterwards. with the current price at the market, there is no further ROI

therefore pricing of bigger harddisks already decreased a bit and I am pretty sure it'll come down further especially with cyberweeks and blackfridays ahead ;-)

So you suggest this Black Friday we might have offers like last year, but with a later provisioning (like 14 days), allowing providers to receive HDDs ordered on special offers?

That is what I am doing, but at a very small scale. I have many laptops with empty disks running anyway so why not.

  • This wouldn't be a problem if politicians hadn't sold us out and now all manufacturing is in a communist state seeking world domination.
