PayPal issues...

DataIdeas-JoshDataIdeas-Josh Member, Patron Provider

So PayPal decided they no longer want to do business with Data Ideas LLC.
Does this mean well change our name or what will happen. We don't know at the moment.
For those that currently have service with us.
Please use the Stripe OR Crypto to pay your invoices.
We are trying to figure out what the best solution to move forward.

If have any ideas or suggestions please send me a PM.
Thank you,
Josh

    Good day,
Stripe is our Credit Card/ Debit card processor.
We have gone through and cancelled all recurring payments from PayPal.

    That fucking sucks.

The service is great and it's easy enough to switch my payments over to Stripe, no sweat off my (silver)back.

    Did they mention why ?

  • Fuck PayPal and their shady reasoning.

I have zero issues paying with a card, so its all good from my end. We got your back :-)

They hardly ever mention why, you just got boilerplate copy-paste nicely saying fuck you and that is all. Then you wait 6 (iirc?) months to maybe get your balance paid out.

PayPal is weird about digital goods, and I've heard of them doing this to VPN specific providers as well.

I would imagine that circumventing their decision by changing your business name and trying to sell under that would only mean they'll axe that account too if they find out, so, I'd probably just seek an alternative like Stripe. Sure, you won't be able to process payments from PayPal funds. But you'll still be able to process cards, at least.

I only like PayPal as an end-user because I can split how I pay. (Ex: $100 invoice, I have pay via $65 in PayPal account, $35 via card or bank or whatever).

Well I'm at this point I'll probably just stay away from PayPal.
Although unfortunately going to hurt some business as some people don't want to pay any other way other than PayPal.

@DataIdeas-Josh, this happened to another decently sized host and they contacted them and resolved it the same day.

They require you to have a PayPal account, which in this sense is utterly useless. Why pay them a €0.10 fee for them to just put it in your PayPal account.

I might be wrong and you can accept payments without a PayPal account.

I had contacted them but both the regular person and "supervisor" didn't want to tell me what I was in violation and just said that their team said i was in violation.

If it's weird then why other providers are using it just fine?

Maybe there is a reason that PayPal thinks Data Ideas LLC's business too risky?

This isn't about digital goods, the problem here might be something else.

We only have one part of the story how bad is PayPal.

@DataIdeas-Josh how many disputes and chargebacks did you have?

Maybe they caught you up? Did you have a closed business before breaking PayPal's TOS?

Since opening the business there's only been 7 disputes total.
and no to your other questions.

Supposedly stripe can accept wechat and alipay.
but thats a slick slope as well.

    https://stripe.com/alipay/legal#prohibited-business-list
Granted VPS/Colo is not on there.

seems can't use now, if I select Stripe, only Credit Card can be used :(

I've noticed many providers which support Alipay or WeChat Pay are using payssion.com as the payment gateway.
