@Maounique said: If he fails, he fails. He is an energetic man but not very bright. Doer, not thinker. You need to be both to have a chance at success.

Is the reverse of me. I think, but not execute. Thats why you hire people for what you are not good at.

Problem: for bright men it's easy to pass through that door. Not exactly bright ones might not even see it ...

  • Its also an ego thing. And ego+business don't mix well.

I know very well i can't code or design, my skills are in management, connections and planning - i have no issue admitting that and hiring people for the other tasks, thats where the connections part comes in again.

I am also very open minded who i hire - Like i don't like you personally very much, but i know your skills and would still hire you, it would be dumb not to based on personal preferences.

Cociu tried to hire me before also (few months ago), but then never replied me again when i told him i had time and asked for more specific terms - Such things also piss me off massively.

I disputed a PayPal transaction and it's been a week and he still hasn't responded. I'm surprised because I thought he would give a shit when I message "please send an updated ETA" through the payment processor's resolution system...

Ignoring customers and refusing communication with them may work for quite a while, but doing the same with financial service providers, bankers, etc. just is a painful suicide method. Sad, really sad.

    He could simply tell that.

My prediction is that this thread is going to turn into a refounded with/without success now because I think Host Shite is not going to refound his storage, at least not within a reasonable time.

I got simple solution: Plant the involucrated drives in the soil, then, in the autumn, we get the chia harvest and pay everyone with interest.

Too bad I just topped up my account for another year of hosting. But worse: I miss the affordable 1 TB host! I've been looking for a replacement for the past weeks, it was perfect for my needs. I hope @cociu can sort things out.

The 50% extra credit didn't seem like a bad sign to me, other hosts have had similar promos. Oh well, the Bitcoin I paid with dropped in value anyway :P

HostHatch is good if you can get one of their sales, although I'm not sure if/when they'll have their next sale. They had 1TB space for $30/year during Black Friday sales.

Considering must user where using HS as seedbox, I don't think HH would be a good fit. Maybe with private tracker, but still would expect banhammer at some point.

Oh yeah, good point. Maybe I'm the only person that didn't use HostSolutions as a seedbox, just as a backup of my backups.

Yeah, that makes no sense. You want important data to be reliable and accessible.

Do you guys not get notifications when backups fail and waste time ensuring you always have recent backups? What a senseless cause of anxiety.

I do get alerts when backups fail. HostSolutions isn't my primary backup storage though.

    My backups have layers

Most of my VPSes are backed up daily (via Borgbackup and backupninja) to a storage VPS, which is then rsync'ed to HostSolutions, and I also rsync the most important backups to my desktop PC every month or so (I've got gigabit internet at home so it's not too difficult to just download them). I'd only really need the data from HostSolutions if a VPS dies and my main storage VPS also dies, and I don't have a recent copy locally. All three things are very very unlikely to happen at the same time.

Idk what thread you've been reading but "backups of backups" is probably the only usecase I've seen used as a defence as to why any of this might be okay.

Btw wtf is up with these weirdos "smelling" things in threads? Lmao is this an RP forum or webhosting forum?
