@hosthatch are the storage VPS RAIDed?
How you get so many storage are stacked the 250G Plan ?
Do they really not allow torrenting can anyone else confirm?
https://hosthatch.com/use-policy
You mean Hong Kong? They did mention their next location will be Tokyo/Singapore.
@hosthatch How fast is actually the internal connection between the nvme and storage servers ? I reach a maximum of 400MBit. I assumed to get more than 1 Gigabit ?
Are you testing it over the private IP (eth1)?
Same question
Is torrenting allowed with private trackers?
https://hosthatch.com/terms-of-service#prohibited-usage
This does not say torrent are not allowed
@hosthatch Can you pls confirm
Yes I read tos and there is no mention for it @hosthatch please provide more clarity to the topic
One vote for Tokyo

which part of:
is there not to understand.
private trackers do not make torrenting more lawful. so, how about you take your torrent sh*te elsewhere and don't spoil the performance for others. thanks.
So, seeding Wikipedia Archive (kiwix) is allowed!
Can you explain how seeding 3tb of torrents per month affect server performance ? People are going to use vps right ? There will be some disk usage ,? Not everyone idles there vps
A pi zero Handles qbittorrent-nox with 30% CPU usage?
These storage VPS are meant for storing your files and not abusing them for compute purposes.
Get yourself a seedbox, it'll work out way better for you.
'performance' is more than just cpu use. luckily @hosthatch handles this in an approprioate way:
how about you accept that you won't get what you want here and look for another provider. this offer would be the wrong choice. just leave it...
Yes 10.x.x.x
1 GB RAM (+ 1 GB for 2 years)
2 TB disk
6 TB bandwidth (+ 14 TB for 2 years)
$50 per year
https://manage.hosthatch.com/billing/order/ams-2tb-storage
I added funds, and ordered the server. I know you said setup is 3 days after order, but is there a way to know that the order went through? Something under the servers tab that says, "In Progress" would help.
There seems to be a problem ordering that server. I get a "Your order was successfully created." message but the order doesn't appear under "Pending Servers" as it does with the other offers.
Thanks @englishrefugee. Glad to know I am not the only one facing the problem.
iirc torrent usually creates high load on CPU and disk. Especially since it uses rather small and random chunks of files, and reads and write a lot. Those are mostly meant for actual storing purposes (backups, etc.) rather than high r/w activities
When will push be opened? I really want a 10tb-chi for storage
Thanks to you torrent users I have poor IO performance.
404 for all the storage server pages... must be gone already?
Yes out of stock
Floating between locations or only within DC?
I’m pretty sure it would be per DC. Floating between location would require routing at least a /24, or announcing that IP on every DC, and do internal routing
Their storage VPSes are RAID60 with SSD caching.
Do you have plan to provider storage server on HK? @hosthatch
What is poor IO performance to you? My Chicago HH servers have some of the highest IO out of more than a dozen VPS's I have.
