I opened a case with paypal and submitted a screenshot of my renewal date, which is October 2022. Ownweb literally just suspended my vps and stated the claim was "overdue on payment", then updated my payment due date to the date I initially paid lol. I'm so happy I got all my data and moved to a new provider. The sad part is I tried reaching out to this guy before I contacted paypal and he never responded.

  • just got this:

    Dear xxx,

I have been in negotiations with the people at Xhosts.uk and we have successfully come to an agreement that they would like to take on all your services and keep to the agreed commitments. This means your services are now safe if you wish to continue them, all nodes and servers will be transfers within the week and shouldn't notice a thing.

All that we require is that you sign up at https://clients.xhosts.uk/register.php and open a ticket to request a transfer from Own Web, we decided this will be the best action to take so you can consent that xhosts.uk can take over your account.

If you have brought UK services with Own Web you will not have to do anything above and your services will be staying with me.

If you have opened disputes or claimed for a refund please cancel them within the next 48 hours if you wish to keep your service.

    Kind regards,

    Rob

Xhosts after a 3 minute Google search appears a bit scammy, scummy or both.

Anyway, definitely go for a chargeback, don't be getting passed around the room like a cheap hooker, even if you are a cheap hooker.

On the other hand, you may like the attention of being passed around like a cheap hooker so you have options.

Note: for the sake of clarity and diversity, my references to hooker covers both genders.

Some offer are just not viable, some business learn that the hard way, at least he had the decency to inform the clients and give them some time to migrate and didn't ghost people.

    Hi,

Unfortunately due to the coming transfers with xhosts.uk am afraid I had to assign you a new IP address, your new IP is xxx.xxx.xx.xx

I am really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and please do not forget to register at xhosts.uk and submit a support ticket with your IP with a transfer request from Own Web.

    Kind Regards,

    Rob

no more ipv6 on the "UK" location, now it's a hetzner .DE location, I thought he said. Uk will remain with him...

Anyone who has issues with the new assigned IP Addresses / Locations is more than welcome to open a ticket and explain their issues and I will be happy to look at that.

@xHosts, what about this part of the email?
Considering that selling customer's personal data was not part of the deal.

All that we require is that you sign up at https://clients.xhosts.uk/register.php and open a ticket to request a transfer from Own Web, we decided this will be the best action to take so you can consent that xhosts.uk can take over your account.

Have these people registered and opened a ticket with you to have their service transferred?

@cold, @sander815, could you confirm this too?

  • coldcold Member

the email i've got was from own web... not from xhosts.uk. i didnt signed up with them

Once a customer registers an account on xhosts.uk, provides information in relation to their service with Own web we will arrange to transfer it to their xHosts account to allow them to manage the service going forward. Only people who wish to transfer and register an account will I then see their personal details, no personal information has been transferred from own web to xhosts.

Just a quick update for anyone who had services here we still have a number of unclaimed services, we have contacted all customers on the email addresses linked to their services.

If your service is not currently reachable register an account on our website and create a ticket here with the required information and we can get you back online

    https://clients.xhosts.uk/submitticket.php?step=2&deptid=1

    Provide this information

    Package Name
    Renewal Date
    Renewal Amount
    Renewal Frequency
Email Address from your Own Web account
    Server IP address

I can check to see if your server was included in the migration.

xHosts UK? Proceed with extreme caution - see below.

    Warning regarding this provider: https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/3212419#Comment_3212419

Have a look at the reviews here, https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/xhosts.uk, see how the legitimate negative reviews look, and see the spike of positive reviews from November 2020 that mentions how great app they are (??) which appear to be fake?

@xHostsUK can probably explain it better.

At the same time I would recommend any suppliers to think twice before selling to them, though refusal to sell to them will result in the owner smearing you on any place they can review you on.

Owner of xHosts UK has tendency to not honour their commitments

You can read more about it in the publicly available information about him on the industry forum, WebHostingTalk,

Here are the chargeback claims against him

Here are further negative stories linked with him

Normally, they said transfer your vps to xhosts.uk with ticket ?! And i'm open ticket and and normally xhosts.uk finish transfer (they confirm that!). But yesterday my vps is down and xhosts said, OwnWeb is not giving to backups ?! WTF?!

    ownweb ticket: https://ibb.co/rxqBNzd
    @xHosts confirmation: https://ibb.co/vZ7jNjD
    2. ticket to xHosts: https://ibb.co/xgvM5d9

I think, ownweb and xHosts is same people or they are friends. I don't know. Also, it's my companies owned vps and they start to legal / law proccess.

  • Wow. Be attention if you use @xHosts and OwnWeb!

When will WHMCS finally add a sliding scale for the gender spectrum in the ordering process? I hate having to choose between the two when I sign up with a new host.
