    VPS
But I think its the same,
Don't worry just wait some time and everything well be normal
I even noticed better performance after the downtime

@cociu - do you have surveillance cameras inside data center? Save the recordings too for the scandal.

    The normal procedure should be:

    1. Spray paint the camera, so that video is limited to first few seconds.
    2. Liquid nitrogen the servers. Powering down the router could cause illegal programs to self-destruct after losing connection. Liquid nitrogen preserves the evidence.

    Reference: CSI Cyber on CBS.

Re 1: ... not proportional, and destructive, plus almost never necessary. Also legally highly questionable.
Re 2: (a) ... liquid nitrogen the whole DC or even just a hall?
    (b) Hardly. Occasionally loosing connection is normal, even in Tier 3 and upwards DCs, and certainly with cheap ones (which those guys knowingly chose).

@jsg now what's your opinion? 75 machines of crud - still think turning off the network was wrong?

"75 machines of crud" is what LEA asserts. "LEA assertion" == "factual reality" can't be reasonably assumed to hold. It quite often does not.
And yes, even if that really where the case I still think that turning off the whole Operation/routers was wrong, not proportional, and highly likely creating a lot of damage to not involved innocent 3rd. parties.

Anyway, I guess we'll have to wait for @cociu providing all info and data available. And btw he is the one who had to take immense damage. Those incapable LEA retards - who btw seem to also have taken a dump on the court order - might have all but destroyed his business. Saying nice things like "I'm with you" here is easy and cheap, but really staying with a provider in a country that is known to willy nilly sh_t on all your rights, on the law, and on the people is a very different thing.

Locate the server by setting up port mirroring on the switches and observing traffic on the mirror port. This is undetectable from the servers.
Then, pull the server and put into liquid nitrogen.

    (b) Hardly. Occasionally loosing connection is normal, even in Tier 3 and upwards DCs, and certainly with cheap ones (which those guys knowingly chose).

If the connection is lost, delete data. When the connection is reestablished, re-sync data from other replicas.

i think your ideas are wild
why would they put the whole server in nitrogen? it's nonsense
    1) if they want the contents of RAM, then connect/intrude into running server through some free (physical) ports of the server and copy it
    2) if the free ports are not (or are disabled in the BIOS) then (as last possible and extreme option) they would proceed to the server shutdown and quickly move its RAMs sticks to nitrogen (since the contents remain in RAM for a few seconds after shutdown, and strong nitrogen cooling will prolong it to a few tens of minutes)
of course, not everyone can/is able/know perform these (secret) operations and special techniques
but they must have the best IT and HW specialists with extra equipment hired for it

  • Stop playing with so much liquid nitrogen. You're freezing my popcorn.

  • If I sudo shutdown now from the command line will it stay down?

I finally got access but I'd rather it stay down until the network's not fucked.

  • Back online :)

  • my VPS with IP 193.148.69.X too ;-)

Unless there's a host server reboot I guess it will stay down.

PS: Mine is still dead. And so is the client area.

power up all guys , i will ask a huge favour , in the first hours please do not make unnecesarry traffic because we will start all this via our top upstream and we want to avoid any struggle. In the next hour also can be small interruptions until we add the GTS upstream again in our bgp. All traffic until is all set will be tunneled.

I understand and respect that. I have already redirected all the traffic and will keep it redirected for a whole week, to give you guys time to settle things.

P.S. Server from 188.240.X.X is up.

  • Back up here, too.

Well, at least my dedicate has been powered down after the network cut and boot up a few hours ago until network has been restored.

No idea what they did with it yet, as long it was powered down.

Yes, that (LN'ing single servers) makes more sense. And yes, port mirroring is something that came to my mind too, although if all traffic is encrypted its usefulness is limited.

If the connection is lost, delete data. When the connection is reestablished, re-sync data from other replicas.

Sure, sounds sensible, but is it, if you have not-small data? Plus, they seem to have about 75 dedis, so going through the cycle you suggested every time the network has a hiccup is hardly feasible practically.

all dedis was powered down unfortunatly .

In mid pandemic crysis, people must work like that, and do overtime for business survival, just because authorities of their European country can't do their job properly, punishing thousands of innocent customers for some single abuser (theoretically).
