One has to love Debian's simple way to upgrade to the next higher version! Just installed Buster on several idling VMs...
How long does it usually take for VPS providers to allow for new releases to be installed if you don't want to go the ISO way?
That completely depends on the individual provider.
NVMe goes blazing fast, SSD goes fast and HDD slowly.
Thank you for the insight in the matter.
yea I also had no idea, thx so much
Some providers are distracted and prodding them helps. Some still have to be prodded to add Debian 9.
If they are using OVZ maybe, on KVM you just upgrade when released, easy.
https://hetzner.cloud/ is down!!!
And https://www.hetzner.com/!!!
Both are online. My monitoring had 0 outages.
Up again. Wasn't down long enough for drama...
Not me grumpy!
Indeed, systemd is not the topic of this thread! Let's celebrate Debian instead!
(I hope that Devuan will be able to make their next release in significantly less than a year from now, unlike last time, but we'll see. Devuan is a great choice who want Debian without systemd.)
RAID10 was rebuilding, tks.
I HAVE USED OVER 666 PROVIDERS AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN THE CASE BEFORE!
RAID 10 SELEKTOR OK?
Guys, we all like Hetzner, but this thread is about Debian!
Hetzner doesn't offer Debian ?
I was going to post an image of Hetzner only having Debian 9 and add some triggered effect but it was down. So it was somehow related, had they been up.
Have you tried decaf.com ?
Guys, please
I diagest caffine quickly so I don't really get any effect from it, on the other hand, I can quit without side effects. As for caffeine today I've only had tea.
For those upgrading from Stretch, here's some reading before trying to upgrade:

Actually I'm using Debian Buster and SystemD everywhere, and I quite like both. Just waiting for the new mini.iso to install some more systems
Everything just works, mostly, provided you are in the right state of mind (that is: willing to get used to alien technology, and adept at stoicism)
Buster has been released.
Enjoy.

@fLoo: You beat me to it.
But I can add that the web site has also just been updated: https://www.debian.org/
Sorry, i'm within debian testing team
You rock.
Debian, tnx.
It's a bit late in Europe; I'll install tomorrow!
Buster plz
Angstrom, baby, we talked about this. It's not "a bit late", it's "I have some serious idling left to do tonight, I will throw in dist-upgrade in the next free window in my G calendar" /busybusy
