All except Sentora, for long period of time in different time frame.

All shit in my personal opinion, all have dozens of problems here and there.

I moved from all of this shit to cyberpanel on LiteSpeed, which works just fine out the box without ANY issues so far.

Please allow me to rephrase my earlier post into a two part question:

    a) is vestacp file manager a paid addon?
    b) how do you like vestacp?

    Thank you for reading.

Virtualmin : steep learning curve on the interface.
Just works on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. 18.04 support pending due to netplan.

Well, you mention vesta cp file manager in previous sentence, so it is safe to assume "it" in second sentence refer to vesta cp file manager instead of the vesta cp.

    For your question
    1. Yes
    2. I like it, because it's very simple. I can't find any control panel that is simpler than vesta cp.

  • Can't seem to get Vesta installed on Ubuntu 16 or 18... so meh.

  • We tested most of these a few months back just to learn. Some just never worked right or even installed. DirectAdmin has a lifetime license, and it's worth it.

Why do you want Ubuntu for server? Debian, Centos use less system resources.

Used to work with Froxlor professionally (SysCP back then) and now using it privately and even submitted a couple of patches - so I may be biased - but it's the best damn panel I could find. I also tried ISPConfig but I disliked the way it works, everything feels very rigid and uncompromising. Froxlor allows me to mix and match different web- and mail servers and customize the environment to host anything really. And it's simple.

I use VestaCP with free and ISP manager with paid.

VestaCP is a minus file manager. For this, instead I use sFTP/FTP as a file manager.

The minus is that in the panel you can not assign several IP to 1 domain.

Also on old OS phpmyadmin does not work correctly and it is necessary to repair it manually.

Also install apache rpaf on Debian 8.

Gehugafugah? The what now? A simple .gz download and php based installer is "very hard" these days?

go to /tmp, wget the latest tarball, unpack it to a subdirectory, change to /install in that subdirectory, run "php -q install.php", answer a handful of simple questions, done.

Not exactly rocket science if you have ANY business setting up a Linux server in the first place.

Of course, for the timid, just do a "Perfect Debian Server" off of HowToForge and be done with it.

    Everything has security flaws.

Of course, but I remember people talking about VestaCP having a LOT, and they weren't being patched or something.

  • VestaCP is the best free one at the moment. Security issues can be mitigated by using a firewall, or to stop the vestacp service when not needed and only enable it when you're planning to to use the panel. Also, if you dont need mail, don't install the mail server, etc
