  • Just curious, what can one use these openvz for?

  • plumberg said: Just curious, what can one use these openvz for?

    install openvpn .

  • DNS servers? Webhosting with nginx+php-fpm? reverse proxy? You can do so many things with 384MB of RAM.

I'd assume most people let it idle (but I hope I'm wrong!)...

  • JohnMiller92 said: So far, the lowest I've seen is $4.50 and highest was around $21.50?

    Last year I got 384MB RAM | 20GB SSD | 1IPv4 OVZ for $4/y :P

Yeah, most will prob be used for vpns but there are still other stuff that can be done with ram that low, even a fairly basic low traffic website or something like that would work. That amount of ram used to be a fairly expensive option for vps heh

Install centmin mod (or own custom nginx+php-fpm+mariadb setup) + enable caching = even a high traffic wordpress site could do well. These small VPS can offer more performance than the crappy shared hosting one would get for the same price!

    I still don't get it :P

I'll spill the beans just because. Basically, I saw craft from the word simcrafted, and thought of the game Minecraft. So I checked their Minecraft hosting section. They have a free Minecraft server available. I would get it but I never really played it

    Aaaaah. ok.
Well that one I surely not understood.
Checked the page source code 5x now, but this I didn't realize.
But anyway -I have 0 use for a minecraft server, so thanks, but no thanks.

That's a good idea lol gonna be doing that now

  • There was Minecraft code? When, how, wtf?!

  • @VirMach your script is goin crazy again:
this is the second in a row with strange low storage.
    3 GB RAM // 10 GB SSD?

  • Second easter egg is on the 2nd page, on the very last reply, regarding $5 or $6/year 1GB RAM.

Third easter egg is on page 5, on OP's reply regarding flash deals on storage.

It appears @Virmach's easter eggs are in response to our requests (or whining) on available deals, so... SIGH, I wish there was a deal with 6 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 250GB SSD with 8TB bandwidth...or even higher specs perhaps...

I think it's because offers are created by a script, based on what resources are available on servers. There might be too much RAM on a node, but not that much storage space available for example...

  • i'm waiting for something with at least 2Gb ram and 30 Gb space...

    HAProxy + DNS
