beta cloud
Someone liked the DigitalOcean control panel...
Looks cool, but doesn't work. Gives an error when trying to create a server with any configuration. Surprised they didn't do this sooner.
create on DC8, DC3 didn't work
I can create cloud servers but it's auto disconnect after change root pwd.
edit: can't create any more servers.
Website was non reacheable from ping pe and from latam and Europe user/s .
Might be a “ víctime of le success”
I did manage to create my 3 “clouds”
working.
Benchmarks:
Small one:

Big:

works without a hitch for me, (Falkenstein) and public key setup.
My one in Nuremberg:
when does beta end?
When I try to create a server I get this:
Anyone else ?
When it's no longer beta.
Tried to create servers in both DCs but failed, got this in the bottom right corner: "Error during placement of server", anyone else having this issue?
Wouldn't be surprised if they're out of capacity already, also recieving this.
to it shows errors when i try to place an order.
Well they're offering a bit too much for a free offer.... Wonder if they'll restock tomorrow, would like to get a free one to play around with.
I quite like the CP with live IOPS and IO graphs in addition to usual CPU metrics.
Ran some real-world tests.
1) setup a gitlab instance (8gb ram) from vendor docker image.
2) Gitlab newproject (source gitrepo: torvalds/linux on github)
3) git cloned that gitlab repo on another 2gb instance. (40MB/sec network minimum)
4) Hypervisor/staff powered off both instances as step(3) started warming up.
5) Manually Powered on both instances from CP (bootup was FAST)
6) Finished (3) successfully this time.
Things I learned : Gitlab is now a bloated pig (3.92GB used ram at peak). I need to move mine off a 2GB KVM with InceptionHosting, probably to my Hetzner Dedi.
So, not a total waste of my time.
wtf
Account is disabled.

Hetzner accounts will be disabled automatically when there's no service running like vps, dedi, domain or something.
I just create these account this morning, and deploy 3 server there (from OP Link).
I guess they're only giving out the cloud beta if you have paid services.
maybe you ran into some fraud protection? try contacting their support...
I guess they are monitoring new signups closely to prevent abuse on those free things.
Signing up with vpn/proxy or data that might be suspicious in any way may not work (not saying you did or intended to).
@Falzo why don't you talk to @Hetzner_OL into preparing a BF special?
good point, that might be a much easier explanation... I just tried and could deploy servers in falkenstein and nuremberg within seconds. no problems at all, don't have the time to mess around just now but for sure will do later ;-)
haha, good idea, but I doubt they have much interest in cheapskates from all over the world often bringing in more issues then margin. I've never really seen them changing their marketing strategy or going far out of that track. guess they are happy with how they are achieving their goals.
one needs desperate providers to get desperate offers :-)
@Hetzner_OL anyway, on behalf of Mr. ehab (and for sure some more lovely people around here) I really like to inquire for some (limited) awesome blackfriday offers.
I suggest you think about doing some really exciting stuff to promote your vserver product range as I got a feeling that those are a bit grandfathered lately.
so how about a dozen 40% off coupons (recurring) on the vservers you could spread across LET?
If you like trustfully hand those over to ME first and I'll take care of
using them myselfmaking a raffle or something like that ;-) ;-)the above by Falzo ^ almost made me cry... i must admit you are a charmer.
if this doesn't cut it then nothing will.
Wonder what the option for "optimized for availability" changes in terms of hardware/speed since this is probably a network disk.
just created 3 test servers and they all appear to have launched fine.
I already do, before posting here.
Nope, I didn't use any proxy. Lets wait what their support said
