  • I know I'm being very LET here, but I'm assuming one package per client? I'd love to get my parents moved from their old host which surprisingly still works despite there being no business anymore.

If this question was directed at me: yeah, the promo was intended for one order/person, but this was not enforced. Although looking now at the payments for this promo, it doesn't seem the same person grabbed more than one package. Either way, unfortunately the offer ran out, as the last one was grabbed before you asking the question.

PS: if this was not directed at me, just ignore my reply :P

    Cheers.

  • Ah... all gone :(

  • Too sad. Could have used this well, especially with the apparently nice public reports.

  • Happy to offer LET members discount pricing on our API if anyone's interested?

There will be other future LET exclusive offers, no worries.
Thanks everyone for their interest and thanks to @jarland for this thread.

What kind of a deal on monitoring are folks looking for? We may be able to swing something special for LET.

I'd like to see a deal on the Provider plan. Maybe without voice, if that's a big expense for you.

I find it hard to pay $99/m for what most OSes ship by default as basic commands :(

I wouldn't mind paying for a scaled out version of traceroute/ping though. From a lot of locations.

@rapidcloudspace It'd make sense to read the forum rules and apply for a Provider tag.

Be careful what you ask for (or offer) around here.

  • rapidcloudspace said: $12/Mo for Unlimited storage

Wow, amazing deal for storing my 120TB porn collection.

  • WSSWSS Member

The store is unlimited. The inodes, however, are not.

Meh, I'll just tarball. Or maybe merge them into 100 hour porn sagas. Just imagine 100 hours of sounding!

  • WSSWSS Member

Sounds like what RCS will end up with if they ever manage to go live on LET.

    Noted on that

:) and nope. Porn can't do. ToS.

  • @rapidcloudspace So it's OK for my 180TB bird watching raw footage backup?

    1 poor.

2 you can’t exactly stop someon from backing up th collection unless you’re checking their files. Is that what you’re doing?

Or maybe some 180TB cat fight vids? As long as you don't break legal stuff, why not? :)

As I've said, we have limited amount of stock which allows us to do some little automation on checks through python. We'll even widen uo our eyes since someone wants to back his bird-watching videos ;)

Yeah, it’s really not that hard to query whois.iana.org + the appropriate WHOIS server that is provided. (Alternatively, you can use the WHOIS command)

It simply isn’t worth the price. (I can spin up a droplet and perform WHOIS queries/ping/traceroute/dig/etc. in a matter of minutes, for a fraction of the cost.)

  • @rapidcloudspace Your BoxBilling installation definitely instills confidence.

  • @rapidcloidspace Using boxbilling for billing which has not been updated in a couple years. Just makes me wonder if you really care about your customers information?

Yes. I am confident about my BoxBilling installation. We are not just using the 'opensource' version which is buggy. We have the latest from musicboxnet and they are still continuing development as every week there are updates from them. :)

  • WSSWSS Member

So you're using the several-years-old version which isn't buggy? Good to know you got our back!

Obviously, you're not the target user. I could see some of these tools being useful for integrating into a customer-facing support site. The whois lookup doesn't add much value, but some of the others—like the Chinese Firewall Test or the Reverse MX Lookup—look interesting.
