You have no idea what you are talking about, as simple as that.
If you had any you would not write this but rather see the extortion Spamhaus does behind their anonymous facade.
So might be better to just say nothing at all.
Surprised? I mean, it's not for the first time...
Interview process seems to be complex. And I was denied pretty straightforward when I applied like a year ago IIRC.
Apologies if that was a bad experience. To be completely honest and transparent, we've changed processes in recruiting/interviewing many many times, just trying to find that sweet spot of what works best for us.
@MikePT not god enough for heaven (DO).
Sure, it's just that.. Well, it was a standard, canned reply, and I've actually spent some time.
Now that you've posted about this position, seems very interesting to me, it's basically about handling abuse, etc, which is something I actually enjoy doing.
May I PM you with some questions?
I'm a Saint. My name is Miguel Ângelo Santos / Santos -> Saint.
Really a Saint.
Rest assured that if you've interviewed or applied, being rejected is not a statement that you're not good enough or anything like that. As we grow, so too does the response to job listings. Never hesitate to apply again

Please do
You've got a PM.
The last time I worked for a us-american company is many, many years ago and it was btw somewhat bigger (ibm, senior consultant).
But for someone with deep interest in hosting (and living in the us of a) working for DO might be interesting, so good luck, MikePT
Weird, PMs usually show up instantly...
I'm so sorry. I'd love to hear your war stories sometime
Sent right now, sorry, was typing .
I do not live in the USA, but in Portugal, and do enjoy living here. I own a company with my partner, José, a designer, we've been growing, and doing NOC for two companies, though I have been thinking of getting a job, sustain my company and grow it even further. :-)
Thank you @bsdguy!
No need to be sorry. It was a good time. Funnily then I thought that I was a true master; today I understand that I was but a smart apprentice. And my major war stories would probably reflect what I was really after (then): getting plenty laid *g
Whatever the details, I just meant to (honestly and friendly) wish you good luck.
P.S. I think (quite subjectively; I might be dead wrong) that jarland can be a major asshole as boss but at the same time someone with whom one can professionally grow quite a bit.
I appreciate a lot. Thank you!
I dont like to lick anyones boots but I and Jarland have had our fair share of problems. He did prove to me that he holds no harm feelings for whatever happened and gained my respect. He is indeed very professional and a humble guy which is something I value a lot.
He loves the company he works for. Thats rare. Really rare. Most people work for the money only nowadays.
An arsehole? Really?
Someone with strong opinions on what to do and how to do things, but who is more than happy to have his perceptions challenged by data and evidence doesn't sound like a arsehole of a boss to me.
@Nekki,
Go back to your data hoarding. I havent heard of your Plex setup for a while you lazy bastard... Still leaving those boxes idling?
Just assume that I forgot to insert an "occasional" (but "can be" suggests that, no?)
In case that helps: Of myself I need not assume, but I know that I'm sometimes an asshole as boss.
On the Plex front, I'm moving through multiple server options at the moment, deciding on which to run with. Making the most of a poorly judged SYS purchase and using it for a lot of testing before it's handed back on the 15th.
I see. So ETA - 1 year.
Something like that. Work's going to be a bitch for the next 4 months.
Good luck. Im looking forward to access your share full of horses.:>
I suppose it's all in perspective. I have a tendency to trust people to want to do good and therefore not communicate expectations to them. This makes me to blame when expectations are not met, and I can't hold anyone accountable for them as a result. I feel like a jerk for asking large things of people, when in reality I'm a jerk for not. Leadership is a difficult task, and one where I think I'll never stop learning.
I also don't consider myself to be anyone's boss. Could be viewed as another flaw in my personality, I just legitimately see everyone as an equal at all times. I don't mean that to make myself sound good in any way, everything is a flaw in some situation.
So, you're chaotic good?
Pretty dead on actually.
I am not surprised that DO got listed since they forward any abuse message to the client and wait for them to act as far as I hear.
and they could drop the droplet of the window and spin up another droplet without being suspended or droplet creation has set on hold until the abuse issue marked as resolved and everything is clear.
Really depends on the issue. Some things you have to shut down right away, some things you should work with your customers on. It should depend on the customer too. You can look at a customer's account and go "Okay, they signed up today and they're doing X, this is most likely intentional" where another you might say "They've been with us 3 years, this server is 2 years old, this is probably not intentional at all."
For every situation, a human must consider the variables and choose how best to act.
Its not only DO. Its very common and very easy to get listed.
