If I saw this ad and I was out of work I would jump at it. Something flexible, keeping skills current and covers some of the bills. People have different perspectives on opportunity cost but if you're just sitting on your ass all day anyway may as well make some money.

This. I don't see anything wrong with the request. If it's too cheap, then don't apply. Simple.

  • @trewq, can you close the thread please? Anyone who's interested is welcome to PM. I've had quite a number of messages already, and the thread has been moderately entertaining, and served its purpose...

This discussion reminds me of Amazon Turk ( mturk.com )

But no one usually gets mad at Amazon (for disrespecting Turks in general and for offering third-world-tier """jobs""")

Rewards are from $ 0.05 for five minutes to $ 0.04 for one hour ... and even less than that

OTOH, millennials nowadays could be skilled enough and interested enough in OP's offer

And I'd say, even regular programmers/sysadmins/IT dept. specialists who just have a bunch of free hours while code is compiling/systems are updating/backups are restoring/adobe acrobat is installing. Rather than implementing fizz-buzz variant #1305 or playing castle crush or whatever app is hot atm on their commute they could as well write some php

  • Closing as requested.
