Phoenix reborn from the ashes
i only took my hollidays withowt you , i hope you will understand, also i will put a thread verry soon (waiting on of my sysadmin who is english native) to justif my absence
What is the weather today in Khabarovsk??
Not as cold as Borscht, not as rich as Bisque..
Judging from @Nekki avatar odds are that there will be some anime series among the stored files and if it is the whole of one piece, db and naruto (just to name popular ones) + other movies/series it can get full quite fast.
I have a NAS at home 2TB/3TB occupied already though I am hosting a lot of backups mainly.
@Nekki , you can consider Romania too , you can pay what you want , in less than 2 weeks i have all storage plans prepared
Well let's make sure it's a price that makes you some money, you've got to be losing money on everything else you've sold me.
Nekki needs a lot of space for getter robo armageddon hentai.. 512GB ain't gonna cut it.. that stuff is massive
512GB ain't gonna cunt it..
It's a mech series.. there ain't a single cunt in the show and he still gets boner from watching it. #gundamisbest
I like hentai as much as the next deviant, but if they ever do anything with Getter Robo HEADS.WILL.ROLL
Somethings just don't need a hentai version, I get plenty of boners just listening to Ryoma shout 'CHANGE-AA GETTTAAA A-ONE!'.
I do not need to see Ryoma going to town on Hayato, EVER.
Go watch Gundam Seed. That is godlike. I get stiff just hearing the title.
Seed didn't really capture my imagination, I gave up about 8 eps in. I do have the whole thing on DVD(!) but in all honesty there's a lot on my watch list to get through first.
Ye it's kinda shit on the start, but its godlike shortly after. Personally I think its better than Gundam 00 because of the story and character depth. Also I liked the countless plot twists.
I think I just like the UC too much (Unicorn is amazing), the only alt universe series I ever really enjoyed was IBO.
Gundam Seed (Cosmic Era), is pretty hardcore/gore and beautiful at the same time xD You'll love it.
I keep checking this thread for some cheap storage solutions but I think the discussion is over
Sounds good! Would you tell us what the pricing will be before the launch?
"Daddy"
I think the takeaway is that there really aren't many storage offers around that will beat a Kimsufi KS-2E.
If you want really large amounts of storage (2TB plus) and you want 'cheap' it's pretty much Time4VPS and that's it.
There may be other places... 7TB dedicated, $25/mo. PM me if you want to know where.
edit: sold out
If you can use 6tb (2x 3tb) for around 25 euro, that's usually available in the hetzner auction. You get a fast transcoding box wrapped around it too.
I will keep an eye out, there wasn't anything interesting the other day, but 6tb for €30 works and with Hetzner you know they're not disappearing anytime soon.
The €30 includes eu vat so it's about 25 before vat. No setup fee either, and gigabit port.
Looks like you can still get a ks-2e? https://www.kimsufi.com/en/order/kimsufi.cgi?hard=161sk2
I'd probably take the crazyfish in preference, because of the faster cpu.
Nekki, did you contact exception0x876 about this? He might have something interesting.
He did indeed and I've purchased a plan for a month to see if it'll work. I've not publically disclosed spec because invariably it ends with the provider getting hammered with 'me too' opportunists.
Didn't realise the Hetzner price included VAT, pretty sure I'll pick up one of those, what I MUST do is look at what I'm currently spending and cut loose a lot of the stuff I'm not using, because I've got lots of 500gb plans and cheap dedis knocking about that are a bit of a false economy.
I'm looking to really up my storage game, so 2x3TB for €30 is more appealing than €15.
Well if you actually have something to store on them, some kind of raid or other replication could be useful, just sayin'. Also make sure to check the drive age and SMART parameters on the hetzners. I got one with 1 almost-new and one old dying drive. That suggests it was taken out of service by the previous customer when 1 drive actually failed; they replaced the failed drive and left the other one on its last legs.
The SMART numbers got worse over the first few days I had it, so I got them to replace the drive, giving me 2 almost-new drives, a lucky break. That was about 1.5 years ago and it's been going strong since then. So I'm fine recommending the product, just be a bit careful.
We're just talking about media storage, so there's very little I couldn't stand to lose, and the important stuff IS backed up at homebase and elsewhere.
