If I recall correctly, the Suhosin patch has not been updated to support PHP 5.4 (nor do I think there are plans to update it).

  • Still the best Linux

    Good news!!!!

I wonder if some software will be broken if I upgrade.
Like proxmox for example, or dotdeb stuff

  • 1308 upgraded, 719 newly installed, 70 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B/1,353 MB of archives.
After this operation, 822 MB of additional disk space will be used.
    Reading changelogs... Done

  • @yomero said: Like proxmox for example

Would hold off on that since Promox says "squeeze" for the installation

  • it's save to upgrade my openvz vps from Debian 6 to Debian 7 ?

  • Been using wheezy since mid-2012. Never had an issue with it.

  • @arieonline said: it's save to upgrade my openvz vps from Debian 6 to Debian 7 ?

Yes, it is. I tried it.

I can also confirm that it works, at least it did on my BuyVM VPS. The only package I had an issue with was the dotdeb version of MySQL which I was able to just uninstall and reinstall once the upgrade finished.

is there anyway easy to upgrade on openvz?

  • @Mun said: is there anyway easy to upgrade on openvz?

edit "squeeze" to "wheezy" in /etc/apt/sources.list
    apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade -y

Added Debian 7 to the Fliphost template options, will probably upload them to openvztemplate tomorrow.

That works for dedicated and KVM, but what about Openvz, doesn't it require a special kernel?

  • @Mun
    i've 5 running openvpz vps

    i just run this:

    sed -i 's/squeeze/wheezy/g' /etc/apt/sources.list
    apt-get update
    apt-get dist-upgrade

Openvz templates for anyone that wants them: http://www.openvztemplate.com/view.php?id=28 (Debian 7)

  • Can't wait to play with this!
Minstall will be targeting it soon!

  • Its pretty smooth and solid so far.

If you hate GNOME 3, choose "Gnome Classic" before you login.

Keeps stating it can't find suhosin.

  • mojedamojeda Member

php5-suhosin doesn't appear to be in the wheezy apt packages.
