Looks like they hit the nameservers
@DeanClinton - yes but without a subpoena they are not going to give it out.
Most providers just need a scary LEO letterhead PDF
"I'm being asked really hard questions outside my normal scope of just airing out providers"
Hacked or intentional, very happy to know theres one less wordpress bruteforcer. Easily one of the most annoying things/people on the internet.
I would not even CONSIDER a mail service without having DDoS protection.
Trust me, you don't want to see the insanity that happens when I do
At high volume it's far easier said than done. But I'm working on it.
SecureDragon, OVH some options - I'd use your service but sadly it is US based
? I wrote that long before that happened.
Parental supervision needed.
This is coming from a security expert, who's dedi was doing some kind of port scanning. Oh i had my chuckle thanks man! Use the Force Luke!
You will have to ignore everyone's comments. Not one person on this forum or WHT agree with your point. Have you ever consider why it's like that? So fault is at Delimiter so that everyone agreed with them?
Port scanning? Both Steve and Mark have said it was brute force attempts on a word press installation, not "port scans".
Holy shit. If you did that to the company I work for, they would drop you like it's hot. That's just annoying. Please don't do that.
just ordered a DelimeterVPS dedi thanks op
Delimiter are the new BuyVM.
o.O?
You've possibly not been around long enough to get the reference.
Basically, once upon a time, everytime someone started a thread that reflected negatively on BuyVM, it ended up with more people wanting to buy from them.
There's a lot of similarity in Mark and Fran's polite, factual and unflappable manner in dealing with complaints, which might well have something to do with it.
I find it funny as Mark isn't a direct representative of Delimiter but works for the parent company... He does go above and beyond a lot to answer these types of complaints or questions though.
Bonus he's a top notch guy..
I am trying to figure out whether the OP is annoyed because he got caught or because he would have brute forced his way into that WP install by now if he had not been stopped.
@ATHK - not the sister company but parent company.
Edited, my bad just woke up, system hasn't loaded dictionaries yet.
@ATHK

Yes! This article is infinitely better than the most well marketed "security plugin" you can find.
Oh. I have never read anything bad about BuyVM and they were always very nice to me.
Do not use Delimiter,i order dedicated deal and it take 5 days before they setup.when i request some change they simply ignore for another 4 days.at the end they lock me out of the account,i then request the refund they ignore me.i request Paypal for a refund,PayPal said i can not get a refund.a week later Delimiter send me a charge back $25 bill.they ripped me off $99 for a 3 months deal and not provide the services they are thief, stay away from them.
@al4tb PM Mark here on LET and see what he can do before you go on a massive rant - http://lowendtalk.com/messages/add/MarkTurner
good job spamming
@MarkTurner will most likely can take a look, but this sounds like a one sided story... Especially a chargeback has already initiated. What you are writing seem to have stuff that doesn't make too much sense.
They have been really slow lately, likely due to the massive number of upgrades they sold (X5150 to L5420). It took 2 weeks for my upgrade to take place for example, and possibly might have gone longer but I emailed sales@ asking for an ETA so it might have been a case of "squeaky wheel gets the grease".
If the change request went to "dedicated support", I have a hard time believing it went unanswered for 4 days. They're lightning quick when I open tickets (and I've opened several with different questions). The only time they're not as fast is when it's a question they can't answer, but they still respond saying "I'll have to look into it and will get back to you".
If the change request went to sales/billing, then yeah I've experienced multi-day delays with them, but AFAIK that's because they work normal business hours and not 24/7, so if you submit on Friday they may not get to it before they go and then you're looking at a Monday or Tuesday reply.
