So, for the fun of it, anyone who managed to get one, are you my neighbour?
I am in lucky rack 13, block K.
@bohdans Hi neighbour, just different rack and block
Come on @kcaj tell them the whole story how you did it; with ten simultaneous iperf streams to ping.online.net -- which is less than 1ms away and is on a 10 Gbps connection itself. That means all of the natural limits are not in place (such as the ping to remote host, or their connection speed, or the upstream provider interconnect busyness, or heck, even the HDD speeds of servers uploading and downloading files). You can play dumb and say "but I only used my 1 Gbps port" as much as you want, but the problem was that you ended up using perhaps 99.99% of it continuously, something which will never happen in real life due to the limits mentioned above: the real usage is more likely to be up to 70-80-90%. No wonder (and I am glad) that their automated systems watch for and shoot down that abnormal 99.9% usage, since it's a sure sign of either something like a local DDoS or some other artificial and maybe malicious usage pattern.
That isn't what I was saying.
I'd hope a server with a 1Gb/s uplink were able to manage 10 simultaneous connections at 100Mb/s each without taking a switch out. Anybody who wants to see this for themselves can run iperf with enough connections to see ~600Mb/s and things start to creek. Doesn't need to be their internal server either as @rm has specified.
Thing is, these weren't just 100 Mb each, they were "as much as they can" each.
Yeah I am not sure how/why this would crash the switch (and I doubt that it really did), more likely what would happen is just an automated lock-out of the port, or depends on how it's all designed, maybe of a number of ports.

You're paying 1,99 and you expect that? You're being delusional.
A port that can be saturated without causing problems. Whether that be 10Mb/s, 100Mb/s or 1000Mb/s.
Anyone here who have managed to route small IPv6 blocks from /48 to multiple servers ?
You can request /64 from your /48 via control panel.
what nameservers to use for ipv6 delegation at online.net?Als to setup ptr records.I use cloudflare but it doesnt support that.
Hmm... They called me as I'm cancelling 2 kidechires... Now I'm tempted to cancel these cancellations...
If you don't have your own, you can sign up at http://dns.he.net/, it's free and supports IPv6 PTR zones.
Yea, it's time to cancel the cancellation of your cancellations if you have no use with the servers
I'm wondering if you can "give" me your account (transferring the whole account). Though I only need one kidechire at the moment for dev learning.
Couldn't you learn the same way using your own computer and (if needed) a virtual machine?
Get a SH atom laptop.
the only good reason i can think of to use online virtual machine/dedicated server is because their home internet suck and slow, so installing/compiling/reinstalling/etc are limited with their own computer..
Just enough using 'outsourcing' features in online.net!
Same thing happened with me... I still dunno what to use them for.. Other than crashing routers and turning them into DNS servers.
So basically they call and say 'guys please don't cancel'?
... and they don't want those boxes to change owner.. weird, isn't it?
No, they just asked if there was a problem and if I have input for the service. I am simply moved by the effort they took to call an oversea client with just €1,99 machines.
Ok, interesting to know, thanks.
That might be the goal of those 1.99 servers though, getting the brand more known abroad - and it is probably working as we are speaking about them, and might consider them for a bigger box in the future.
How was their English?
btw looks like I'm getting back my money for the windows licence
The support told me that first I have to pay the invoice, because they can't/aren't allowed to change an invoice. But they'll refund me afterwards
In that case then it works on me. I was already considering to get their avoton in a month or two, and now I am even more convinced to do so.
Good and understandable. Better than mine.

love my little box

What panel it is?
Looks like transmission-daemon.
My Tor box is still picking up. CPU usage some 7-10% by Tor, I will see when it is maxed out how much can do.
Is there a chance to order second ip on kimsufi?
