Had you waited until black friday - about anything would be better. :P'
Edit: With this are trying to get a gaming laptop or just a powerful laptop?
The 28th is a little late... And not Australian.
It looks awfully expensive for me...
0xdragon can afford : )
Anywhere cheaper and Australian? (no parcel forwarding)
@AutoSnipe @ATHQ @wych and all other Aussies weigh in please :-)
Im not AU yet
Dont look at me, all my machines are from radio rentals (one of the only "electronics" stores where i used to live) and gumtree lol.
@PetaByet may have a few ideas
He can buy from Acer similar specs with touch screen for only $699.99. Can ask his friend or some parcel forwarding company for delivery to the land of Aussies.
I am looking at getting a T440.
The only brands I trust for laptops are Lenovo, Asus and Toshiba. NEVER go HP, their build quality is horrid.
Australia Post now offer a US address and parcel forwarding

Acer are terrible.. I hate them.
Plus add the $60.65 AUD shipping, and the conversion for $700USD -> AUD and it's way over the $800 spent
Yeah, Lenovo and Asus are my choice Toshiba is plastic and yuck.
Why the f*** did you buy a laptop with windows, mate? What's wrong with using linux on your laptop?
My girlfriend recently got a Toshiba from greys online, I'm pretty impressed with it considering it's refurbished.
It's included :-) I tried removing it!
Interesting, but demo models don't appeal to me
Best laptop for <$800
@0xdragon yes but if you buy another model with similar specs which doesn't have windows included (i.e. comes with FreeDOS) it would be cheaper.
Where from though?
Factory refurbished isn't the same as demo
Why did you pick the E440?
Was there a better choice?
It was a good choice I thought because it's rugged.
I've done some shopping and can't find anything better
Why a shity plastic Lenovo when you can get an Asus?

This is what I could get here (739€)
Mate, converted to AUD, that's over $1000 AUD.
But this is way better than that shity lenovo, and the CPU is way better

Just wondering what made you pick that model. I've been looking at the T440 and have gone to purchase it a few times but every time I get to the payment screen I have a feeling I'm making a mistake...
The display res is for the trashcan
Thats the standard on 14" screens, why do you need more on such size?
Do you want a 1080p screen and then having to use binoculars?
How much costs the Asus model I refered to you, in your country?
I would get a MSI Ghost, Recently got one for my trip so I can work abroad, Works perfectly and its pretty amazing for anything. I mainly got it for work/games but extras are never ending. Great sounds, GFX and I7. Ill post the specs below, But costs around £1200 but its worth it.
Features:-
Specification:
Can't find it here in AU, this would be the closest thing: http://www.jw.com.au/msi-ge40-2pc-617au-dragon-eyes-14-gaming-notebook-p-55273
Seems your Price in AU is high, We can get it more cheaper in Bangladesh
