Btw, does anyone got Gbit in RBX1?

  • I don't think so. How can you choose the DC?

Just ordered a KS-1. Came with N2800 (note the product list shows N2800 now) and a Hitachi Z7K500 (500GB) with 21 hours on it. GRA1 datacenter. 100Mbit download

What size HDD have you got?

  • 500GB

  • I wonder if GRA1 will ever get 1Gbit?

    Saturday, highly likely no.

  • So a bunch of new KS-1/2 stock got released? Because they seem to be always available these days.

Anyhow, ordered a KS-1, and trying to get Windows working on it.
Tried Server 2008, following [https://joodle.nl/install-windows-on-a-kimsufi-server/](this guide) but the server won't come back up (no ping responses). Tried the process twice but same result.
I can mount both partitions in recovery as NTFS and the contents look alright. Anyone know what the problem is?

Did you check your disk is at /dev/sda ? Also, dumping it did you set the netboot back to hard disk rather than recovery mode?

Yes it's at /dev/sda, and the partitions get written as /dev/sda1 and /dev/sda2
Yes, changed the boot back to disk. Recovery always responds to ping anyway, whilst booting off disk doesn't.

  • Windows server 2008 might not work on the ks1, please try if 2012 works

Windows 2008 firewall will stop pings by default, did you try remote desktoping in?

  • Yay, just ordered 2.

    Okay, thanks, trying now.
Although this is with the N2800 board, so presumably should be the same as KS-2?
EDIT: Server 2012 works! Thank you joodle!

The guide says to wait for ping, but I did try RDP anyway, which timed out.

Thanks for the help by the way.

And I'm pretty much happy, although average ping from my location is 80ms, that's a little harsh, but everything else seems great!

  • Is the KS-1 now available in GRA?

Sooo, KS-1 is continuously in stock for pretty much 24+ hours... This is interesting and of course nice, but I wonder for how long more this'll last.

@kcaj yes their web service returns GRA, but as said on IRC you can't 100% trust it, there've been cases when it said one thing and people got servers elsewhere.

  • I've entered validation anyway. If they are currently available in GRA, will I be reserved one in GRA now until I am validated?

KS-1 and KS-2 where retired from Kimsufi NA website.

And I'm pretty sure that the prices increased compared to Yesterday...

    just 1 cent increased?

  • Got a KS-1 with N2800 and a 500GB HDD with 8 power on hours. Not bad.

  • kimsufi KS-1 available to order ;) I'll take one.

  • I have ordered one but as I know it says 120sec to deploy. Still not with me after 2 days :-( lol

I got mine within 120 seconds, probably because I'm from Europe.

Also, check your spam folder. All OVH mails went to spam at first for me.

  • Just bought and deployed 2 boxes in minutes.. guess it helps if you've ordered from them before.

I ordered a KS-2 and it came with a 2TB drive, located in GRA. About 5 days power on hours. KS-3 in BHS also came with 2TB drive, but ~1.5yrs power on hours.
