    in RBX1 they are upgrading by /24's. If you are on the ip rannge : 91.121.x.x most probably you it will be upgraded soon. The rest will follow. Which /24's are already upgraded , you can fine it on : http://travaux.ovh.net/?do=details&id=11248

    in RBX3, seems like they have finished some subnets: http://travaux.ovh.net/?do=details&id=10990

    Yeah, this is what I assumed and was trying to get at

  • anyone got 1gbit already?

  • Anyone recently order a KS-3 and get 2tb?

    Got one a week ago for some teenager who wanted to make a gaming community. It came with a 1TB HDD not 2TB. Hope this info helps! :)

    Lord almighty! Kimsufi about to put 90% of providers out of business! $13.4/mo dedicated servers (KS-2) with unmetered 1Gbit?!?

    This is all just a dream, right? What's next -- SSD hard drives?

  • @Sylmae said:

    Upload is still 100Mbits

    This is useless.

  • The relevant/important speed for a server is the UPLOAD, not the DOWNLOAD. Unless you want to send something TO the server with 1Gbps, as the previous user said, it's useless.

    That's still non-guaranteed Gbit (and not even guaranteed 100 Mbit). You could get the same for years on cheap servers at DigiCube and Online.net.

    For everyone:

    Requires: PHP, Pear with Net_SMTP and Mail plugins (apt-get install php-net-smtp php-mail)

    <?php
    require_once "Mail.php";

    $headers = array ('From' => $from,
      'To' => $to,
      'Subject' => $subject);
    $smtp = Mail::factory('smtp',
      array ('host' => $host,
        'auth' => true,
        'username' => $username,
        'password' => $password));

    $host = "smtp server";
    $username = "email";
    $password = "password";
    $to = "your@email";
    $url = "http://ws.ovh.com/dedicated/r2/ws.dispatcher/getAvailability2";

    if (!file_exists("/tmp/kimsufi")) {
    $f = file_get_contents($url);

    $a = json_decode($f);

    $avail = $a->answer->availability;

    foreach($avail as $s) {
     if($s->reference==='142sk1' || $s->reference==='142sk2') {
      $z = $s->zones;
      foreach($z as $zone) {
        if($zone->availability!=='unavailable') {
                    $from = "Kimsufi daemon ".$to;
                    $subject = "Kimsufi ".$s->reference." available in zone ".$zone->zone;
                    $body = "Availability in ".$zone->zone." https://www.kimsufi.com/en/order/kimsufi.cgi?hard=".$s->reference;
                    $mail = $smtp->send($to, $headers, $body);
                    touch("/tmp/kimsufi");
        }
         //else { echo "No availability"; }

    For me downloading speed is important. The faster I can get a file from a server, the faster I can upload it elsewhere. I'm competing against Gbit seedboxes so I always lose out.

    Don't care that it's not 1Gbit upload because as soon as the other seedboxes join in, my 100Mbit upload speed won't matter as the swarm speed will be way up there.

    I get 1TB HDD + 4GB RAM for $13.7/mo. DigiCube and Online.net doesn't have those kind of server specs for that price (maybe I'm wrong as I only did a quick check).

    Not arguing with any of you guys. I'm just saying we all use our Kimsufis for different purposes and we all have different budgets so 1Gbit download speed (plus the specs of KS-2) would be like stealing! :)

    Yuppp, this is why it's a sweet upgrade, especially given how many other peers in swarms are in OVH too

    I see much significantly more peers in NL than FR. All the seedboxes have jumped off the OVH ship.

    Anybody here ordered a KS-3 recently with 2TB HDD?

    I got one. Delivered immediately. Core I3 - Intel Motherboard. Having a heeeeelll of a time getting windows up on it though. Nothing seems to work.

    You tried joodle's Windows images?

  • The windows 7 one installed flawless using that guide. It's just it was useless for me since we only have licenses for PRO not for ENT. Tried downgrading a couple of times or upgrading to 8 but it just fails due to the lack of KVM.

    Windows 8 should work on any kimsufi server. A Windows 7 Home Premium version will be released next week.

    yep - machine doesnt seem to have a network driver. after reboot, there's no network connectivity (and I've left it an hour... even a slow machine should be able to complete a sysprep localization in an hour)

    I've tried rolling my own Srv2012 autounattend.xml and used that (which installs fine under ESX in roughly 3 minutes) but I get no activity within Qemu after starting the install.

    I also created my own image, sysprep'd that, and copied it over... same result as Joodle's images. No network. I hard reset it, and booted under rescue - then mounted /dev/sda2 - and mount warned that the drive was dirty, so windows must have been running at the time I reset it. Just no network.

    I think the culprit is the ethernet chip - looking at Intel's site today, they explicitly identify the 82579V chip as not having a Windows 2012 driver.

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=21694&lang=eng&ProdId=3299

    I'm now trying to find an alternate driver for this chip. I dont care about high performance - the box only has a 100mbps connection. I just need it to have a reliable connection.

  • @slartibard just a suggestion - has this box worked ever? Possibly with Linux first (if you have experience with it)? (I dont know much about win installs)

  • yes - works fine with debian7, Proxmox (though I couldnt get windows 2012 working in a VM there either), ESX 5.0 (and updated to 5.1 U2) and Windows 2008 HyperV installed from the Kimsufi manager.

    The hardware seems solid - It smells like driver problems.

    The HyperV install has a driver for Intel 82579LM Gbit nics - so I've added the Intel PROWinx64.exe drivers as part of the AutoUnattend.XML scripted install, and am uploading the image to my OVH server now so I can stream it over.

    Crossing my fingers..

  • Folks, Just ordered a KS-4 today in BHS. Instead of 1TB drive as advertised, it was delivered with 2TB drive (i think per previous comments, it seems like only KS-2 in France have shipped with upgraded 2TB so far). But its a 1.5 yr old Toshiba.
