123systems: Wrong advertising in LEB, then, custom new and... more expensive offer in support ticket

123system is well known here for their... professionalism. Those are just my 2 cents.

I tried to order a 15$ yearly kvm package from here: http://lowendbox.com/blog/123systems-18year-512mb-ssd-kvm-in-buffalo-or-los-angeles-and-more-kvm-offers/
Offer was on July 2, I tried to order it less than a day after they post it.

I tried to click on 512MB HDD Annual offer, but it was not working. So, I opened a ticket to their system and asked them to fix the ordering link. I also posted a comment in offer, asked the same thing, to fix the ordering link.

12 days later (!!!) they answered the ticket (after they closed it without an answer and a reopening from my side) saying:

15/07/2014 14:08 bharris || Staff
Helloo sir,
best offer we can provide for that package is currently $25/yr:
https://123systems.net/billing/cart.php?a=confproduct&i=1

From 15$ to 25$ and after... 12 days of ticket pending! before you start with (search about them in LET, blah, blah), I already have 2 small boxes with them and I know the quality of this provider. I know what they offer, but still... This behavior was something that should be stated here...

Don't tell me your reason of having such views about this provider are because they don't provide DD porn as most complains/negative I see on LET are because "That provider really sucks, only 250 MB/s disk I/O according to DD test. I opened a ticket & they have done nothing to fix it......"

  • XxNisseGamerxX said: And who is bharris??? Wasn't only Andrew staff?

Probably some fake account for a outsourced indian company.

@K2Bytes I don't usually complain about a provider, especially when it is so cheap and had been tested from a lot of users. I know what I'm buying, but in this case, the thing is about how professionals are they. If you place an add with offers, then, offers have to be valid. If no, you say that offer is ended (offer is still on in LEB). And, when there is a support ticket in sales dptm., they may have to take their time to answer it because of lack of staff: 1, 2, maybe 3 days. Not 12 and with a response that is almost a laugh against a wanna be a service buyer from them...

When did this happen? Are now a part of CVPS?

No solid proof, though a client did report having their refund request handled by Chris a few weeks back.

As @kcaj said there is no solid proof or official statements but it is being rumored for a lot of time here & on another forum as well that it was sold to CVPS sometime ago.

  • Just saw this on LEB. Hmm

The dog days of summer are officially here and that means it’s time for our first annual summer update. This email is different than the ones you’ve received from us in the past – which were sales-centric, a cheap ploy, we admit. Over the past two months we’ve conducted a review of our internal policies and operational processes and we’re very busy making big changes. Keep reading for our big news and discount opportunities:

    1. Vastly improved support. Effective two weeks ago we added three support technicians to our team which now allows us to offer true 24 hour support. No longer will our customers feel like a generic number forced to interact with apparently careless customer service.

    2. Accountability. At any time you can request that your support request be escalated and management will quickly intervene. Your business is valued and we will make sure you feel that way.

    3. Lower Server Loads. Effective immediately we have begun provisioning nodes without slabbing technology and with 40% fewer customers. We have additional nodes on the way to load shed existing servers and over the next 4 weeks customers will see a dramatic improvement in performance and reliability. These improvements will not cause any interruption to your services and your IPs will not change.

    4. Better Uptime. Lower load and the end of slabbing, along with fixing the issues that occurred due to the recent OpenVZ update will all mean a much more reliable customer experience.

    5. Pricing. Our same attractive pricing model will stay intact for all current customers. Absolutely no increases will occur for existing clients. There will be a modest upward tweaks on certain packages for new orders and those increases will help cover the costs incurred with our overall improvement efforts. We’re confident that new customers will believe an extra few dollars per year will be worth a better service; and current customers get that improvement free! Just like it should be.

In the past our boring sales emails would include massive discounts to compel customers to signup. Given our mission to improve, and the changes we’ve already made, we’re now proving more reasonable incentives. Signup for any package with coupon “save25” and you’ll save 25% for life.

    1GB OpenVZ: WAS $19/yr normally, NOW $14.25/yr:

    Thank you, sincerely:

@XxNisseGamerxX Yeh, I just saw it myself. Maybe they were bought by cvps and the new owner is trying to do some damage control. Maybe it is just Andrew that wanted to dispel impressions after all that angry posts down his offer...

  • If Andrew wrote it he should have said his name. Hmm

  • jvnadrjvnadr Member

@XxNisseGamerxX I don't know what was the records before, but now in whois the admin is 123system, there is not any name there.

Well I had last checked whois for their domain in early 2013 then it had Andrew's name there.

  • J1021J1021 Member

The whois hasn't changed recently, last updated December 2013.

Those rumors didn't start recently, have been around for a few months now.

Still, Andrew is the one that send Maarten the offer in LEB, the one that published at 2 of July.

Gone downhill since they were bought by ChicagoVPS aka @CVPS_Chris

Unfortunately, they were already at the bottom of the hill before that.

    @CVPS_Chris
God d**** it ! again, same bs like ugvps! I MAKE IT A POINT OF STAYING CLEAR OF CVPS BS. If the host did sell, they at least didn't let any of their customers know :s

Ermm... and they still at there isnt it? Wonder how did they cope with that?

I disagree that this is a problem. Promo ended, they didn't respond quickly to a presales inquiry. That's what I'm reading from this.
