There you go, yours has an edit time

I think a good community has the responsibility to "protect" customers from getting scammed. The point isn't to say "It's your fault, you should've done your research." but to prevent these things, with the best of our ability, from it happening. That being said, you're probably going to see a GVH hate thread every week where people complain about their services and cause more drama on LET or you'll have to take some administrative actions on the matter.
That being said,
this is a low moderation forumwas posted somewhere...EDIT: To expand on my post, this isn't WebHostingTalk. LowEndTalk will always be completely different [ and that's both a good and a bad thing in some senses. ] There will always be customers that will choose the cheapest option as well, regardless of the quality of the option; no amount of moderation would fix that.
just an off-topic question, i ordered GVH for their "Non-ColoCrossing" LA VPS that located in QuardraNet months ago.
but as mentioned in this thread, GVH will move all service back to ColoCrossing(except Seattle), so if that happen could i ask refund for this "not server as promised" with cancel it?

You should probably wait for the billing system and SolusVM to be restored.
@GreenValueHost
Can't help the unwilling, but I'd still feel better about it if I tried
OMG, almost 800 replies and I am on a mobile device by the sea. Is someone kind enough to send me a tl;dr version? PM please. Thanks
Our good freind rain dog did a tl;Dr about 3 or 4 pages back

It gets interesting here http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/29739/jonathan-nguyen-resigns-as-greenvaluehost-operations-director/p11
@Maounique
Yes perfect. Just to add to that, we called the cops and they dropped by johns house.
If homework is reading 15 pages of 17 1/2 year olds berating a 16 year old, I'll happily pay the extra few dollars a month for a better known host.
TBH, these GVH threads seem like character building exercises for a bunch of people and they could do with moderation. It seems like there's an element of bullying from keyboard warriors too. All fairly childish and can you honestly say it's productive for prospective visitors?
Actually it looks like his postings were moderated. Someone prob has screenshots.

Jon steps down, continues to lie from pages 1-10. Gets caught in lie after life. Someone mentions a DB leak. Then, once again, as he has in the past said he was going to kill himself. Police are called to do a welfare check on him. "Please don't call the police.", he requests. His stuff is still offline.
Thanks all. Pretty extreme, though I doubt there was anyone around actually believing those staff announcements, their location and all. If you did believe it, raise your hand!
GVH down?
Prolly.
For me too lol
Suicide is never an option. At any time, after you lost everything, you can say to yourself, well, I am still alive and will start it over way better this time due to what i learned in the process. If you do kill yourself, then that is indeed the end, the worms will get the best parts of you, just like people that hated you in your lifetime. Don't give anyone that satisfaction, even time in jail is better than no time at all, you have food and shelter and can make great friends if you learn how to behave. And it will help you later.
Everything is an experience we can learn from, death is the exception, unless NDE.
nope, but as there are always "funny" people, they might destroy all the instances..
Truer words have never been spoken. I may not like someone in particular, but I would never wish death upon them. In fact, I'd feel a lot more awful if I found out that they had committed suicide or reached fate in some method. Just because I don't like a person, doesn't mean I wish them death.
My VPS with them in BUF is still up.
Even Justin beiber ? Cmon...
My VPS on Dallas is still up
I wish he gets deported back to Canada already.
Everything is an experience we can learn from, death is the exception, unless NDE.
There are a shitload of times where suicide is very much a valid option, get off your high horse
Although getting called out for being a bullshitting child is not one of them
First off:
If it's PHP, it's probably infected.
At most from those backups you should use the SQL and company template (and investigate / check those even)
Look for rogue admins / entries in your DB restores, and do not use the files from your restores, get fresh downloads of Solus and WHMCS. Really any PHP file you used could be hiding a custom-coded shell right back into your machine.
Stop giving access to HVH (George comes to mind, had a bit of an iffy past with HF) as well as the entire HVH team such as Milan, etc.. Stop making me look right about GVH being the HVH pass-through shill 2.0. I remember you when I worked at HVH, you had 3 very oversold servers, and when you passed those customers off to HVH, I'm sure CC put you in line next as I figured. You barely could handle what you had before, so yeah - you're probably overwhelmed filling /19's for Quadranet, CC dedicated servers, etc.
3rd: Get and use / scan with lmd (linux malware detect) from Rfxnetworks, get it, scan all of your backups you restore, and before anything gets put live. Get APF as well for a firewall and use egress filtering. For the trifecta, get BFD, good brute force daemon that goes well with APF.
Edit php.ini, lock down as many disable_functions as you can without hindering your installation. Also enable_dl enable_url_fopen = off, 1st thing. Could make a two line PHP shell fetch and run a remote file.
Use Mod_security, even if it's the cPanel default rules, or more advanced sets. There are still free rulesets out there post GotRoot.
Next, get actual DDoS protection. DDoS protection from a guy without a website who made his money from Malware does not a mitigation company make. Doesn't matter who you have it through. Have to be able to actually filter against Layer 7 attacks... Staminus, BL level. Don't have to go the full Prolexic route, but LowEndDDoS protection is a bit of a joke.
Good luck and godspeed. You don't kick someone when they're down, no matter what a scheister they are.
