Hey good one guys, this was fun. Much Love. <3

  • I always take these games/quizzes/whatever as a fun activity and nothing else. I sleep at night (in contrast to those people who snatched most of the deals), eat well and exercise to keep healthy and I highly recommend you do the same (you will ignore it but here we go). So, I participated a few times, did not win anything but it was fun. OK, I have ~10 servers with Greendaddy, which is more than enough. All I can say is thank you to all people who were part of this fun thread organizing events. There is always at least one MJJ who is not happy, this is just part of the journey. Looking forward to 14th birthday next year!

Why are people chasing after 2222SoftBank so badly? The $25 budget SoftBank VPS restocks frequently and offers 4gb ram without paying long term.

I think they want to peering with China, Softbank line to China mainland is good in speed and rarely being blocked.

I agree that SoftBank is a bit better than IIJ. What I mean is that BudgetKVM restocks almost every month, and I think it's a better option than the 2222. I grab a softbank few week before the 13th sale.

Nope, if you can grab softbank 2222, it is equivalent to 20$/year but you can double ram or disk and bandwidth, it is cheaper and better than budget spec (at least on bandwidth). I agree if someone don't want to pay for longterm just get the budget.

But budget KVM is 4GB already and you don't need a long term payment.

2222 is two option, (4GB RAM and 1.5TB BW) or (44GB disk and 1.5TB BW). If you pick the first, BW is better, if you don't need all the RAM, pick the second, which both disk and BW better than budget. so I said atleast BW better than budget. (BW on budget is 750GB)

If I remember correctly, the 2222 plans gave double RAM or double disk.

The double bandwidth came if you paid triennial (1.5TB instead of 750GB for annual).

Also, it was $22.50 annual vs. $60 for 3 years.

Disappointed with how this birthday sale actually played out — honestly
feels more like a flash-sale rush than a "celebration for the community."

    Three specific issues:

    1. Campaign period was clearly stated as "October 26–31, 2026 (UTC+0)",
yet by the morning of Oct 31 the entire 13th Birthday store was
already empty / pulled down. Note on timing: the OP states the
campaign runs "October 26–31 (UTC+0)". As I write this it is still
only ~00:49 UTC on October 31 — i.e. barely 49 minutes into the
stated final day, with roughly 23 hours of the advertised window
still left on the clock. Yet the entire 13th Birthday store had
already been emptied/pulled by that point (early morning of Oct 31
in UTC+8). So this isn't "the sale ended as scheduled" — it's "the
sale was cleared out with almost a full day still officially left."
You told us "once these batches are gone, that's it for the year",
but clearing the whole shelf on the last day, before the stated end
time, is not "the last day" — it's ending early. Those of us who
planned to check back on Oct 31 found nothing.

    2. The OP said "Inventory will rotate and update periodically, so keep
that page bookmarked!" and promised "extra flash sales, giveaways,
quizzes, and more every 1–2 hours in this thread." What actually
happened? Popular plans (most notably the 2222 JP Softbank) were
dropped as tiny flash batches that sold out within seconds. "Rotate
every 1–2 hours" turned into "we blink and it's gone". If you can't
keep a 1-2 hour restock cadence, don't promise one.

    3. Speaking of the 2222 plans — you yourselves told us "GreenCloud will
NOT be holding a Black Friday sale this year" and "this 13th Birthday
event is our only major promotional sale of the season". That made
the 2222 line (especially the JP Softbank variant — the one so many
of us were waiting for) the single event of the year to grab. Yet
the 2222 plans were effectively available only on the very first
day, then never restocked in any meaningful quantity for the rest
of the campaign. Calling that "the only sale of the season" and
then making the most wanted SKU a one-day drop feels, to put it
      gently, ungenerous.

I've been a long-time GreenCloud customer and have renewed several
boxes at list price without complaint, so this isn't a random hit
post. But a "13th birthday for the community" shouldn't reward
auto-clicker speed and punish people who, you know, have jobs and
check the site during normal hours.

If any of the 2222 plans — especially JP Softbank — are coming back
before Black Friday (which you've already said isn't happening),
please let us know. Otherwise the "this is our only sale of the year"
framing just becomes a reason to be frustrated rather than excited.

People like you are the reason why so many LET providers no longer want to offer special deals.

Go ahead and find me another provider that has been part of the community for more than 10 years, has a decent track record, and offers JP SoftBank VPS at such a low price. I will wait.

Special deals offered by providers are a privilege, not an entitlement.

I absolutely disagree though. When You make a promise and people expect something and it is natural. It's not as if the poster writing his frustration out of thin air.

What I am seeing is, in same parameter, different providers are treated differently. If it was someone else than greencloud, then many people would have agreed with what was written. But since it is greencloud, fanboyism kicking in and people goes to other end of the spectrum.

I'll give another example. When solidvps raised the price a little bit, people blasted them like there was no day tomorrow. The poor provider took a lot of heat.

But when some other providers raise their price to 200% or more, it was just memes and everyone supported because of increasing hardware price.

I don't care about this poster nor about green cloud. But that doesn't mean his post epiotomises everything wrong with some members in the community. That post has genuine concern and frustration too.

Can you point out what we have not done in this thread? The OP is just unhappy because he could not grab the plan he wanted. Did we advertise that we would keep the 2222 plans in stock during the sale? There are plenty of other plans restocked, but it’s simply that he did not want it and said that sale ended after day one.

Also for SolidVPS I am not one of the people who complained, I personally hold 2 VPS with them too, and their price increase is justifiable in my opinion.

Heck do you even know how bad is the market nowadays?

Using solidvps as an example is ironic when OP contains this:

Despite these steep cost increases, we are committed to keeping our renewal prices unchanged.

It's a perfect example of why GreenCloud has so much more goodwill with the community. Any preferential treatment they have has been earned.

And for me, this sale was extremely frustrating... but GreenCloud is excellent regardless

You cannot please anyone. Don't worry. It will always be someone unhappy, doesn't matter how much you've done (we do). This situations are normal in every society. LET is not excluded.

The 2026 market is harsh/expensive/getting more costly. Keeping the old prices must be considered a deal

But also everyone is free to express their feelings and thoughts. Also true.

This! I think that @Onemmt could have framed it better, but I do share his feelings to an extend. I was hoping for more too, especially with no BF sale.

That said, the deals were really good and I could have easily bought 1-2 VPSs if I wouldn't have cared about the location.

It's always a matter of expectations and reality. I don't think we should judge people of from what they are hoping for, only if they rage in hate, what I can't see here.
