Terabit.io || Paid $2,000 for a dedicated server, 52 days later and still nothing
I wanted to share my experience with Terabit.io because, at this point, I honestly don't know what else to do.
Before placing my order, I specifically asked about the delivery time and was told "it's 2-3 business days on average." I went ahead and paid $2,000 on September 5th for a dedicated server. Today is October 27th. 52 days later, I still haven't received a single server. Not even the temporary replacement they promised me.
Here's a quick summary of what happened:
After the initial 3 days, I started asking for updates. Most of the time, I either got vague answers or no response at all until I followed up again. On September 20th, they finally explained that the CPU they ordered was defective and they were waiting for an RMA from their supplier. I understood the situation and continued waiting.
By October 5th, a full month had passed. I even suggested that they provide me with any available server with lower specs until my original one was ready. On October 6th, they replied that their CPU shipment was delayed due to a supplier backlog and mentioned that they had other CPUs they could offer temporarily if I was okay with a different CPU. I immediately agreed and asked what they had available. Then, once again, silence. Three more days without a response.
On October 9th, after more than a month of waiting and getting nowhere, I finally requested a cancellation and full refund. Their response? Dedicated servers are non-refundable according to their ToS.
Seriously? I paid $2,000 for a server that was supposed to take an average of 2–3 business days to deliver, and more than a month later, they still hadn't delivered anything. How is their supplier's problem supposed to become my responsibility?
They then confirmed they had Xeon Silver servers in stock and eventually offered me one for free as a temporary replacement until my original server was ready. I accepted because, honestly, I just wanted to move forward. But guess what? That server never arrived either.
On October 14th, they told me the setup was almost complete and only some cabling remained. On October 20th, another message saying "The build is almost finished." On October 22nd, after I complained again, they told me the temporary server would be ready that day. The following day, they said they were installing Ubuntu on it.
It's now October 27th, and I still haven't received even the temporary server. Apparently, even installing an OS takes several days.
And that's not even everything. I had to purchase an IPv6 subnet twice for this server. The first one expired without ever being used, and the second has been sitting unused because they still haven't delivered the server. So on top of wasting nearly two months, I've also been losing money.
What frustrates me the most isn't just the delay. It's the complete lack of communication and urgency. I shouldn't have to keep chasing a company for updates on a $2,000 order. They rarely seem to take any initiative to keep me informed.
I understand that hardware issues and supplier delays happen. But 52 days without delivering anything, repeatedly promising a temporary server and failing to provide it, and then refusing a refund because of a non-refundable policy? That's simply unacceptable.
If customers are expected to respect a company's Terms of Service, shouldn't the company also be expected to fulfill its side of the agreement?
I'm not asking for anything unreasonable. I paid for a service I still haven't received, and I believe a full refund is more than justified at this point.
I'm posting this to share my experience and hopefully get some advice from the community.

Hi,
I reviewed your ticket and at no point did we fail to communicate to you. We advised you clearly that the CPU we had lined up for you was not working and we had to order a new one from our hardware vendors and immediately we explained the crisis with AI to you and how we're experiencing delays from our vendors for delivery currently for orders. You acknowledged this.
We, multiple times, asked if you would be fine with a temporary server free of charge until we get the parts in the fulfil your original order. You requested compensation, and we offered the temporary server for you which you then accepted. We followed up by asking a few questions about your LOA validity as you had changed it, the OS you wanted provisioned on it, and we began working on the free of charge machine that remains free until we obtain the parts in for the replacement (including the 10Gbps flat of bandwidth you intend on utilizing, which has a cost to us as well). It then went into our provisioning system, and we began to engage remote hands to assemble the server for you (as all orders are CTO) and get it into our system. It's equally worth noting that it was quite recently that you accepted our offer of a temporary server free of charge.
As it was explained to you, we've already undergone costs to fulfil your order, so we couldn't offer you a full refund. If you're wanting to simply exit, feel free to open a ticket and we can issue you a partial refund in fiat (we cannot refund crypto transactions as our processor does not support this) minus our sunk costs already, otherwise your temporary free of charge system is provisioning as it was already communicated to you in your ticket. At all points we communicated to you clearly, and you acknowledged/accepted this in your ticket replies to us.
God, you were patient...
Then do it manually.
U HAVE $2000
@leon10
Congrats to your first post (or comment) ever on LET!
In other words: evidence or it didn't happen.
I dug deeper into your ticket for a timeline:
We asked you if a single IPv4 was sufficient for your service (1mo ago)
We received your original LOA multiple days after the order placed, and we validated and added it to our prefix list. (1mo ago)
One of our staff replied as you requested an update, and chased internally for an update. It was responded to rather quickly, and then a follow-up asked for the operating system.
The system went for racking (14/09/2026), and we engaged remote hands to install it into the cabinet and connect all the wires, IPMI, fiber uplinks (after-hours RH request).
On 15/09/2026 late evening we received confirmation from remote hands that the machine was cabled, racked. We were unable to reach it, and opened a follow-up ticket to diagnose it.
On 16/09/2026 we determined there was a hardware fault with the build, we asked remote hands to perform various steps to diagnose/debug where the fault may be including removing/replacing memory sticks, removing/replacing motherboard with a space on-site.
On 17/09/2026 one of our staff communicated there's been a couple of delays and we'd get back to him shortly, as we continued to try to resolve the issue with the underlying hardware with remote hands.
On 17/09/2026 we requested an RMA with our vendor and awaited confirmation from our vendor, and then communicated that on 20/09/2026.
The ticket was put as in-progress, since we were waiting on vendor RMA parts to arrive, we shipped back the faulty parts on 21/09/2026.
You had replied a few more times to the ticket which we had responded to and advised we're waiting on the replacement part still.
We offered you a temporary machine (09/10/2026), you refused this offer and asked for compensation.
Maggie engaged on 09/10/2026 and responded to you explaining our offer for compensation, which you accepted after speaking with Maggie. You advised the old LOA is no longer valid.
On 12/10/2026, you sent us an LOA, it was acknowledged and sent to network engineering to process and was added to our system.
On 13/10/2026, we confirmed the LOA and got it into our prefix list.
On 14/10/2026 we began with assembly. We have a 7-14 day ETA for most orders when it's common parts that are available. This was 13 days ago. As it was communicated to you already in the ticket your replacement is on track for our standard ETA (23/10/2026).
the host kind of confirmed what he said?
52 days and an LET thread yikes.
id send money back and forget the deal.
Some people have too much patience.
And money.
I already mentioned that you ordered a replacement CPU, and I never denied that. I specifically stated that you informed me about the CPU issue on September 20th.
As for your claim that you never failed to communicate with me, I'll get back to that with evidence.
Are you seriously saying that you were the ones who offered me a temporary server? Are you sure about that? Because from what I remember, I was the one who suggested providing a temporary server as an alternative solution.
When I first asked you to provide a temporary server as an alternative solution, you completely ignored my message. I had to follow up 12 hours later, and that message was ignored too. After another 22 hours, I sent a third message asking whether ignoring my messages was your alternative solution. Funny enough, you replied within a minute.
Here's the proof:
https://ibb.co/gbnFj6KW
So please don't try to take credit for coming up with a solution when I was the one who suggested it in the first place.
When you finally told me that you had other CPUs available, I asked what options you had. Once again, no response. I followed up multiple times and waited three days without getting an answer. That's when I finally requested a refund.
You claim you never ignored any of my messages, so what exactly would you call this?
Here's the proof:
https://ibb.co/N23pdW6g
https://ibb.co/NnNbyKyH
Also, as shown in the last screenshot, you confirmed on October 10th that you had Xeon Silver CPUs in stock and could provide me with a temporary server.
That was 17 days ago. How is it possible that you had the hardware in stock but still couldn't deliver a temporary server after more than 17 days? I understand that provisioning takes time, but what kind of provisioning process takes over two weeks for supposedly available hardware?
Finally, on October 22nd, you told me the temporary server would be ready that day. I waited another day and asked for an update, only to be told that Ubuntu was being installed.
How does installing an operating system take more than four days? And why did I have to ask for another update instead of being informed about yet another delay?
Here's the proof:
https://ibb.co/WN3B0TVt
https://ibb.co/jd3sWbk
And let's not forget that after you told me the OS was being installed, I specifically asked, "Can it be delivered tonight?" You never replied to that question, and I haven't heard anything from you since.
The issue isn't just the hardware delay. It's the repeated promises, the lack of proactive communication, and the fact that I have to keep chasing you for answers.
I've been patient and cooperative for over 50 days, but at some point, you need to take responsibility instead of making it sound like you've done everything right.
You have the same standard and have to wait in a cue, it wont change with hammering messages many times a day,
2,000 USD is the total amount of savings I've accumulated in my lifetime.
Plus this:
Lesson:
"Patron Provider": Stop falsely advertising stuff you can't deliver in time.
OP: Stop spending that amount of money on "Patron Providers", unless you don't mind charity.
The '3-day' wait should've told you everything.
Anything not instant is 100% a scam. Even OVH taking 72 hours is fishy, custom build should takes 3 hours max.
@SilverCreek stop taking orders if you're too broke to buy hardware. Did you just fund your rent with his money?
Minus your sunk costs? what the fuck are you smoking.
So he pays for 80% hardware, and you keep it? because he accepted a free server WAY AFTER ur already WAYY OVER failed deadline and ETA out of deperation surely of having a server as you had ALREADY taken his 2K.
You absolute crack pot better revaluate this situation.
Your reply would be reasonable, and understood if this was 7 days over, maybe 10-15. 50 days in free server accepted late into the offering and your refund option is "partial" insulting. You should be paying him 10% interest on that money and the price difference of the crypto if it has gone up.
Talking can't refund crypto too as an extra insult clearly know what your doing your not smart, this makes your what i respected business look fucking awful. This isn't a simple refund it's a entire fuck-up on your part.
Why take money for hardware that hasn't even been tested? joke man.
I won't be engaging further in this thread, we reached out to Leon already via his ticket to offer him a partial refund and did not reply to it, instead replying in this thread despite reading the ticket and ignoring it.
I will again say that we were communicative with Leon, he did not have any issue with it. He acknowledged it the entire way. We offered him the free server, he chose to decline it until he spoke with Maggie and accepted it, we began it's provisioning lifecycle per our standard ETA. In our ticket with him we offered him a dual Silver as his replacement machine, but after internal review on the same day he accepted the replacement offer and keeping with our policies we decided to upgrade his replacement to a beefier machine - again free of charge - until his RMA is completed.
Not that we need to publish it, but he's received a brand new 9950X-192G as his replacement machine - again on the house - until we receive the RMA'd CPU, all within our standard 14 day ETA from when he accepted the free replacement system.
Oh, like you ignored his ticket, over and over and cheery picked response times and scenarios to try make your support progress good?
you promised an ETA, failed ETA, make excuses for ETA, only offered replacement way after you missed your ETA, and the replacement itself is on track to missing the new "fake eta" that magically reset because you decided so even tho his order was over a month ago
Replacement server, that isn't ready to go? the fucking comedy here.
You state but he's received, but don't forget to say the true time-line of how long it took just to receive his replacement, your acting as if him delaying a few extra day asking for a refund over the replacement server has somehow causes the 30 day gap. No that was just simply you.
True sad part is, this isn't even acknowledging the obvious. (I will also stop here, but should be said as context here is key)
We know the 14 day ETA for replacement is BS and should have been offered way sooner, and no asking for a refund changed that the 14 day is purely arbitrary the circumstances your own time-line says so.
But why even so late, did it take the entire 13-14 day ETA window FOR A TEMPORARY SYSTEM, for a customer you had already had waiting for 30 days who you had taken money from.
You are a HUGE provider, you have TONS of hardware on hand it feels like you delayed this "Replacement" a lot which is even more funny when you consider you just tried to brag about the specs of this "Replacement" which will go straight into production elsewhere anyways and doesn't buy you any brownie points the guy still paid 2k-upfront and doesn't have what you agreed on and he was so patient, waited 30+ days the fact a refund wasn't immediately accepted is baffling to me.
You provide games, servers and more to think you don't have an equivalent spec hardware on hand is kinda insulting to everyone especially the OP and if it's not insulting and true then regardless of the AI boom it's MAJORLY concerning you can't replace any production machines hardware if so.
Apologies, I wanted to address a few more points:
We do all our builds configured to order, meaning once we receive the order we place the order for the parts and get the machine assembled. This is fairly standard industry practice, and yes - sometimes there are bad parts. It's why we noticed it before we blindly handed off a service to someone, because we put time and effort into testing things appropriately. I documented our timeline in my reply earlier for this.
It was offered, but Leon did not accept it. It was only after Maggie spoke to him in which he accepted it.
It took 13 days, and our standard estimate is 7-14 days from the time of the order/request. He's received the temporary machine (9950X-192G), within the 7-14 day timeline outlined.
I did outline the full timeline, and in the ticket to Leon we also deeply apologized for the delay and explained the issue in a timely manner upon identification of it, and he did not have any issues with it at the time.
In the case of most custom orders, it's fairly standard to have partial refunds due to a sunk cost getting a specific custom part. Many providers avoid this by charging a large setup fee, we did not charge a setup fee in this case. If this was merely a generic 7950X/9950X he requested, we would not offer a partial but a full refund, but given the CPU he requested it is unlikely this can be resold to another client in a timely manner if he were to receive the full refund, and we'd be stuck with a sunk cost.
Sorry for that. It's not meant to come across as an insult but it's just our payment processor does not support sending refunds. If this was Stripe or PayPal, it wouldn't be an issue. I felt it was better to be transparent at the limitations of our crypto payment processor.
It's not unheard of for OVH themselves to take 14+ days to deliver a server advertised as 120 second deployments, would you call OVH a scammer because they take some time to deploy systems? OVH is a large, reputable company, and it can still take quite some time to process orders. OVH itself advertises 120 seconds for most deliveries, despite them taking longer usually. OVH gets complaints about the delivery timelines when they're advertising 120 seconds as well - sometimes taking weeks for them despite advertised as 120 seconds.
This all said, our team was transparent, apologetic, and communicative to Leon. At no point did we assign blame to anyone, merely the CPU being bad and needing RMA which we engaged in timely. He received his replacement machine today, within our 7-14 day ETA from the time of the acceptance of the replacement server after speaking with Maggie. He would've received this replacement machine today regardless, and it is still within our 7-14 day estimate.
Are you special or just stupid? It’s far from uncommon for servers to take a few days to be physically built. It’s also pretty reasonable to not have inventory of every possible hardware combination on hand, especially in locations you don’t sell as many servers in.
Are you special or stupid? this is for a customer that had already been waiting for 30 days, you make it happen they are to big to have an excuse.
From what I saw in the thread, it was issues outside of Terabit/SCTs control….
Well we agreed to stop after our 2 cents, but let's keep em going.
Problem was when it was offered, not that it was. And that it still took max processing time and you didn't do anything to expedite it for such a situation. And it wasn't offered the OP had no choice after refund was denied. (Or we pretending no other solution, refund or hardware was an option because that's just fantasy land and straight lying)
Accept your point with grace, but shockingly handled regardless as all other points have stated, I happily accept this but where I completely disagree with the logic there is your withholding his money after an initial suggested period of a few days, it's 50 days in customer asked for refund you refused there was no ground to refuse anymore CPU RMA, you had no solution OP wanted you can't fulfil end of refund why is this hard.. You hit hardware trouble why refuse? this is why the disgust either check the hardware or refund.
The reason I say, check hardware, or it's incompetent is because of your dealings AFTER the problem was found. It's BS you don't check hardware when you withold payment when you can't supply yet I stand by it.
Don't care, it's not typical situation re-buy the customer's crypto and send it to him, plenty of platforms exchanges that take businesses, 0.5% fee swallow it your company fucked up end of. The fact I have to say that is the insulting part. Acting like Crypto is impossible to replace or get back to the customer.
Accounting nightmare, sure OP's problem no yours.
Twisting facts here, that system could of been offered immediately when RMA was needed it was not, it was pushed delayed OP had to ask simply asked for refund rather than after the delayed temp server was offered this is being used to start your time-line it's totally unfair on OP and not his job to chase, or request this. It was your offer, his was a refund. Your using your forced no other solution compensation as a suggestion of a fix, when it was simply a further delay and not wanted by OP in first place.
--
All being said, you're far from transparent you are actually purposely twisting words and refusing to acknowledge the core fundamental issues that make a 'normal' operation "it happens" moment deceitful.
To not have parts they advertised in their BTO order form as in stock?
To not offer refund when there was expected extended delay?
Was it?
it was out of there control when CPU got RMA, and they had no solution to keep there money?
it was out of there control to refuse the refund?
it was out of there control to prioritise his replacement machine over other's who had not already been waiting 30 days?
All out of their control? Funny that. Fanboy.
Issue him a full refund and absorb the cost of the 52 days the product was undelivered.
