What's the fair use for egress on the unmetered plan? There's any pay-as-you-go option for storage?

  • Hi, please upgrade my egress to unmetered for this promotion.

we don't meter bytes. Capacity is shared in proportion to what you pay, so a 100 GB plan doesn't get the same slice as a 300 TB one. What we watch is load on the storage: sustained high request rates, millions of tiny files, hammering LIST on huge buckets, mass deletes, or using us as an origin for third-party delivery. Normal backups, media and websites never get near it.

If an account is clearly over its share we contact you first and offer our CDN plan. If it continues, the account gets rate-limited until it drops back. No overage invoices.

We offer 3 locations. The available ones show during the order. If only Canada is displayed while you order, it is the only one with stock at the moment.

Yes, pasting your order number here is enough to get you to the unmetered tier. But this is not high-performance object storage, limits and ToS apply. It is fine for storage, backups and normal website use. As an example, you can't use it for a high-traffic streaming platform. For that you need either our high-performance plan or our CDN.

Well, some of software need to create million of tiny files for dedup and do mass delete operations like duplicacy or proxmox backup server. Will it violate AUP?

No. Backup software is exactly the normal use the plan is for. Duplicacy, PBS, restic, Kopia, rclone, all fine, including their prune and garbage collection runs. Chunks of a few MB are not "tiny files" in the sense of the ToS, and a weekly GC that lists and deletes is not "sustained".

The clause is there for things like someone pushing millions of sub-100 KB objects all day, listing a multi-million-object bucket in a loop, or using us as origin for a streaming site. If a backup job of yours ever gets near that, we contact you first, nobody gets suspended for a prune run.

  • Order number only exists if product is activated?

I somehow survived the signing-up and ordering-process (actually in waiting for activation thru staff atm) but I do not know if life will ever be the same after this experience

  • systemfreakssystemfreaks Member, Patron Provider

The order number is in the confirmation email right after checkout, before activation. You can post it now, we flip the tier when we activate.

Was it that bad? Feel free to send me feedback, we are working on improving the signup flow.

  • I sent you a DM, seems like the order process had some hiccups in between.

  • Order number 6adcb96c6dbd0 - please upgrade to unmetered. Thank you.

Heya, this may be a dummy question, but wanted to ask nevertheless: I can create multiple buckets, right? Also, can I set storage class and expires and cache-control and other options per-file, which will be a cool option for CDN ?

Also, what are the regions? I see only Canada.

    Edit: Contacted over DM.

    Thanks!

    @systemfreaks hi boss,
How i can use bucket with my custom subdomain/domain?

    Still waiting

Forgot to report but i found a issue about my high ping to s3? (i guess)
A long long time ago i think i buy EU located service but... now when i check its located in CA, yes probably half my issue half yours, but even now your website mislead ppl...

    (from my eu server)
Not possible to select other region.

Im from old promo let offer so idk if my bucket created on EU or CA because you post it as EU - CA.
Question is ... possibility to migrate to correct region if it was wrong?

  • Hi,

I'm considering purchasing your S3 Object Storage service for hosting and distributing APK files for my Android gaming website. Before ordering, I'd like to clarify a few things:

    1. Unmetered bandwidth and fair use: What are the specific fair-use limits for the Unmetered plan? Is there any monthly bandwidth cap, download limit, or request-rate limit?

    2. Commercial APK hosting: Is hosting and distributing Android APK files on a public website permitted, including websites monetized through advertising?

    3. High download traffic: If my website generates several TB of downloads per month, will my account continue to work normally, or could downloads be throttled or suspended?

    4. CDN and direct downloads: Can I connect a custom domain with HTTPS and use Cloudflare CDN to serve APK files directly to visitors?

    5. Large files and resumable downloads: Do you support HTTP Range requests, so visitors can resume interrupted downloads and download files using download managers?

    6. Download speed from India: Which storage location will serve my files, and do you have any typical download-speed measurements for users connecting from India?

    7. File size and request limits: What are the maximum individual object size, upload limits, and supported download methods?

    8. Data durability and backups: What redundancy does the storage provide? If an object is accidentally deleted or lost, can it be recovered? Are versioning and Object Lock available on this plan?

    9. Pricing and unexpected charges: Apart from the advertised storage price, are there any additional charges for API requests, public downloads, CDN integration, custom domains, or exceeding fair-use limits?

    10. Account suspension and data retrieval: If my usage exceeds your fair-use policy, will you notify me before throttling or suspending the account? If I decide to leave, can I download my entire stored library without unreasonable restrictions or additional egress charges?

My main concern is reliable, long-term APK distribution with potentially high download traffic. I'd appreciate clarification on these points before purchasing.

    Thank you!

Not a dummy question. One bucket per plan, created with your order. More buckets means more plans.

Expiry is done with lifecycle rules, per prefix or per object tag.

The CDN is in private beta for now. Most of the features you mention will be available, but I can't disclose details yet.

Storage class: not offered right now. We may add classes later, but it won't mean cheaper rates.

If there is availability, yes. I believe you have an open ticket, let's discuss it there.

For a custom domain, right now you need either Cloudflare with rewrite rules or your own proxy in front of the bucket. The CDN will cover this soon, and you will be notified by email when it is available.

    1. no monthly byte cap and no download limit on Unmetered. Capacity is shared in proportion to what you pay. What we watch is load on the storage: sustained high request rates, millions of tiny files, hammering LIST on huge buckets, mass deletes, or use as an origin for third-party delivery at scale.

    2. APK hosting yes, if you hold the distribution rights for every file and the content is legal. Ad-monetized sites are fine.

    3. Several TB per month: normal use, nothing happens. Worst case either upgrade to CDN or Throttled to 1gbits

    4. For a custom domain, right now you need either Cloudflare with rewrite rules or your own proxy in front of the bucket. The CDN will cover this soon.

    5. Range requests: supported. Resume and download managers work.

    6. I have no measurements from India. Test it with the test file linked in our offer before you order.

    7. Limits: a single upload up to 5 TB, larger objects via multipart upload. No file size limit on our side below your plan quota. Downloads via HTTPS GET, public URLs or presigned URLs from any S3 client.

    8. Durability: erasure coding across several servers and disks. Versioning is available and you can enable it yourself; with it, a deleted object can be restored. Without it, a deleted object is gone. Object Lock is not available on this plan. We do not keep a separate backup of your data.

    9. Charges: none for API requests or uploads. On the Unmetered plan downloads are free, and we never bill overage for fair use. On the Standard plan (without the Prommo) downloads are free up to 3x your stored data per month, then $1/TB

    10. Suspension and leaving: we contact you first. Then you move to the CDN plan or stay on Unmetered capped at 1 Gbit/s. No account is suspended for traffic. If you leave, you can download your whole library with no egress charges on Unmetered, and we lift the cap towards your migration target so the move runs at full speed.

Upgraded to LET OFFER - Unmetered S3-Compatible Object Storage 2027

    Hi, thank you!

Actually, I directly purchased the $9.60/year Unmetered plan (Order # 6adcb9d41c691 / Invoice # 6360) rather than the Standard plan. Since I didn't get to use the free egress upgrade promo from the Standard tier, would it be possible to add some extra storage capacity instead as a small perk?

    Much appreciated either way!
