What's the fair use for egress on the unmetered plan? There's any pay-as-you-go option for storage?

  • Hi, please upgrade my egress to unmetered for this promotion.

we don't meter bytes. Capacity is shared in proportion to what you pay, so a 100 GB plan doesn't get the same slice as a 300 TB one. What we watch is load on the storage: sustained high request rates, millions of tiny files, hammering LIST on huge buckets, mass deletes, or using us as an origin for third-party delivery. Normal backups, media and websites never get near it.

If an account is clearly over its share we contact you first and offer our CDN plan. If it continues, the account gets rate-limited until it drops back. No overage invoices.

We offer 3 locations. The available ones show during the order. If only Canada is displayed while you order, it is the only one with stock at the moment.

Yes, pasting your order number here is enough to get you to the unmetered tier. But this is not high-performance object storage, limits and ToS apply. It is fine for storage, backups and normal website use. As an example, you can't use it for a high-traffic streaming platform. For that you need either our high-performance plan or our CDN.

Well, some of software need to create million of tiny files for dedup and do mass delete operations like duplicacy or proxmox backup server. Will it violate AUP?

No. Backup software is exactly the normal use the plan is for. Duplicacy, PBS, restic, Kopia, rclone, all fine, including their prune and garbage collection runs. Chunks of a few MB are not "tiny files" in the sense of the ToS, and a weekly GC that lists and deletes is not "sustained".

The clause is there for things like someone pushing millions of sub-100 KB objects all day, listing a multi-million-object bucket in a loop, or using us as origin for a streaming site. If a backup job of yours ever gets near that, we contact you first, nobody gets suspended for a prune run.

Order number only exists if product is activated?

I somehow survived the signing-up and ordering-process (actually in waiting for activation thru staff atm) but I do not know if life will ever be the same after this experience

The order number is in the confirmation email right after checkout, before activation. You can post it now, we flip the tier when we activate.

Was it that bad? Feel free to send me feedback, we are working on improving the signup flow.

  • OhJohnOhJohn Member

I sent you a DM, seems like the order process had some hiccups in between.
