Ups, I'm too much in lazy saturday mode today. Should have looked first before posting... ;)

I can post a how-to guide later but for the moment i'm in the middle of a raclette party!

    Good luck!

I can post a how-to guide later but for the moment i'm in the middle of a raclette party!

Specifically for the KS-5 in VIN, so with a US endpoint, with an email at startup to check that the email settings are correct, this should work:

    git clone [email protected]:bousquetfrederic/buy_ovh.git
    cd buy_ovh
    python -m venv .venv
    source .venv/bin/activate
    pip install -r requirements.txt

create a config file conf_avail.yaml with:

    APIEndpoint: ovh-us
    ovhSubsidiary: US
    email_availability_monitor: 24sk50-v1-us.ram-32g-ecc-2400.softraid-2x450nvme.vin
    email_on: True
    email_at_startup: True
    email_server_port: XXX
    email_server_name: "xxxxxxxxxxxxx"
    email_server_login: "xxxxxxxxxxx"
    email_server_password: "xxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
    email_sender: "xxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
    email_receiver: "[email protected]"

run (in tmux or screen for long term monitoring):

    python monitor_ovh.py --conf conf_avail.yaml

email_availability_monitor is a regular expression, so "24sk50-" works too but gives updates on every single KS-5 in the subsidiary.

@OhJohn said: Hm I still remember e.g. ovh.hos7.com/new which is great to get the current state but does not have alerting like e.g. checkservers.ovh does. But checkservers.ovh misses a lot that is in the catalogue, e.g. US servers or Asia/Sydney ones.

You can use https://ovh.hos7.com/ for rss and historical data.

  • Any expectations for Black Friday deals this year? Honestly, with all the current shortages and budget dedis constantly selling out, I highly doubt we'll get anything special. Love to hear yall thoughts

There will be specials but there won't be anything special.

Was probably coincidental that like one of each config was available. Won't last for long.

I haven't visited kimsufi.com in a long time but interestingly, they only have two servers in the KS range there now:

It's not because they hide the unavailable ones, since KS-5 is available in GRA at the moment.

KS-5 is not really available in GRA, try to check GRA on https://eco.ovhcloud.com/fr/kimsufi/ks-5/ and you will see that they lack the hw.... this is like: we will call you as we may get the hw available in the next days or years...

I still use eco.ovhcloud.com , that Kimsufi page is horrible.

Both are shit, especially when only 1 or 2 configurations are available, I use my own
