What function justifies that spend?
Why not a docker of Firefox. Extension to map uptime
Is this more about content filtering and reporting?
I don’t qualify myself competent to evaluate this… idle curiosity
Dark mode, please. Installed it as self-hosted stack and was blinded by white color.
its already there, settings > account > theme
Damn, I am stupid. Thank you, it works very well.
nah its hidden too well, thats on me. should follow your os setting by default, on the list
I don't know if I saw that email, but I have been using UptimeRobot for years.
I've always felt it's "okay." I wanted to use a monitoring service that accepted Monero, but didn't find one. I don't mind paying $10/year for monitoring, but $8/month or $13/month seems steep for the amount I use it.
I looked up alternatives on this forum and saw HetrixTools recommended. Signed up there and have been very impressed. They offer way more in the free version than UptimeRobot does. I would like to pay for it, and maybe I should just bite the bullet, but it's also a case where I'd happily pay $10/year but $10/month seems excessive.
I've thought for a while about building my own monitoring platform and charging for it, but never have. I did write a Perl script, which I thought I shared somewhere.

It doesn't alert me, but it runs a lot of unusual checks, like Gemini fingerprints and SOA validation of DNS slaves.
I actually used to work at ThousandEyes, which had a very impressive network aspect to it. Sadly, it was always outrageously expensive. And ten years later, it looks like they've done nothing to improve it -- looked untouched from back when I was working there. Now to be fair, they had an incredible set of agents (IIRC, like 1,000) in all kinds of remote places, but still it's something that can be fairly cheap to run between many customers. I think they eventually sold to Cisco for $1B.
Sorry, Another question - is there an arm docker image? I tried to build one locally but it took forever and just froze for some reason. I saw in docs that there is but I was not able to pull it.
yes, pin a release tag, latest is amd64 only. cut 1.4.0 for you:
docker pull ghcr.io/uptimepage/uptimepage:1.4.0
local build froze because of fat lto, eats ram at link. not worth it
Building Rust on a VPS is a bad idea. Managed to build it on a dedi in around 30 mins, the tarball is just 47MB, let me know if you want me to share it. Our messages crossed
@slima4
hey i tried uptimepage and really liked it.
is there any feature to duplicate/clone a monitor just by clicking a button.
i have to create http/get monitor having similar settings just different urls. hetrix has this feature.
but here i had to re-create each monitor manually. i couldn't find a setting to clone it (if its there pls point me to it). thanks.
i knew it was a vps
no need to share, 1.4.0 has arm now, switch to it so updates are just a tag bump
glad you like it. noted, will add. meanwhile terraform (uptimepage.dev/docs/terraform) does it in one go:
I’m trying out Uptimepage and, so far, I think it’s brilliant.
Just two things:
“INVALID_DNS_PARAMS: host ‘_dmarc.example.com’ is not a valid IDN domain (field: check.domain)”If I may make a request, I have just one: that the DNS monitors form a group and trigger a ‘fail’ if any of them are modified. Either all of them or none at all. For example, dnscheck.co calls this ‘Exclusive’ (https://www.dnscheck.co/exclusive-dns-record-matching).
Thanks, great job!!
Can you monitor simple domain like example.com? I only get latency for some reason, same for TLS cert.
damn, thanks! both are my fuckups, on it...
Lol, that's gonna be the new normal.
