You look a little naïve sometimes, you seem to trust entities that cannot be trusted and worse, you come in their defense. You should know better.

That was not a passive-aggressive "oh yeah? Prove it" retort. I was genuinely asking because a quick search turned up nothing. I am coming to no one's defense. Please don't be so quick to make assumptions about my intent.

But, as I suspected, the answer is more nuanced than TrustPilot "offers these services". Thanks for the answer.

Credible reports on trustpilot being used nefariously are not recent, however they tend to vanish mysteriously so it has become increasingly hard to link to them.

I said nothing about intent, I put the he blame of näiveté.

Then who am I naïvely trusting, or defending? Certainly not TrustPilot, nor PM.

I think you have read too much into my one-word question. If you've read anything I've said about TrustPilot, you'd know I think they're gamed to hell and back and hold very little value in their score.

You can't ask TP to remove negative reviews as per explanation here:

    https://help.trustpilot.com/s/article/Can-businesses-pay-to-remove-bad-reviews?language=en_US

BUT. Usually companies find loopholes and use the system in their own advantage:

Business can dispute review. This dispute usually involves user who left review and if that user does not answer to dispute - review is removed or tagged appropriately (I don't know if they still apply tags).

Because if TP would be a blind review board competitor could bomb you with false negative review very easily.

In past I had heavily abused TPs dispute system to change/remove negative reviews for truly shitty services (I was paid to do that). Users are lazy and does not bother to defend their opinion once challenged.

@Levi said: BUT. Usually companies find loopholes and use the system in their own advantage:

Exactly. They rely on the fact that the majority of users aren't going to supply any additional, supporting information. Hence the reason why "only" 70% of Dasabo's flagged negative reviews were retained after the scam.

Most angry review writers are only angry long enough to write the review and, a few days later, don't even care enough to take some screenshots of tickets to reply to the dispute.

Bingo bongo bango! Exactly this. If the doors close shut - you can brake a window.

That's also why I distrust a company with virtually no negative TP reviews. I'll trust a company far more if they have a decent number of one star reviews if most of them are clearly from angry MJJs than if everything seems squeaky clean with a solid 4.5+ average rating. No legitimate company is free from entitled idiots and terminated abusers reviewing them.

Well, TP is only one signal of many. Usually I skim TP reviews to get general sense about quality of them (no matter if they positive / negative).

If I see LLM use signs, reviews packed in small time frame, review authors having single review, perfect profiles etc. This indicates heavily of scam intentions. Research of such company concludes and never reopens.

No need for TP reviews when there is this sad thing: https://nodeping.com/reports/status/RIP4WW2JRY

The edit must have been the result of an accidental mix up. I restate:
