Thanks a lot for the giveaway.
VPS activated and i just went thru AdminBolt.

Honestly speaking, i have been using Cpanel for long time.

But i seriously would say, while getting through Adminbolt, just got smooth installation,
setted up my domain, checked email workings and other things.

Apearance is really good and flow is smooth. no slugishness.
    Clean and good interface.
    Seriously can recommend.

By the way, DM's sent for the latest giveaway winners now :)

I think you forgot to dm me 😁

Hi @woinokiz -- I'll look again in a bit - just working through the DM's at the moment, in the meantime can you let me know what # position you came in at, on the giveaway you participated in? Thanks!

Idk , sorry I just did a blind shot

No worries @woinokiz -- just checked again, looks like you narrowly missed that round! The last batch was for 10 VPS, and those spots went quick :)

The good news is we've still got plenty of the total 100x VPS left to give away, so stick around and watch out for my surprise posts within this thread -- this party is just getting started 🥳

What if we ignore some narrow things 🤔 😳

Hi @woinokiz -- Hahaha, I like the way you're thinking ;) Stick around, let's see if we can get you into the next round :)

Awesome experience! The guide said it would take 20-30 minutes, but it actually took me less than 10 minutes from start to finish. The One-Click App installation on RackNerd ctrl is incredibly fast and smooth. AdminBolt looks great, thanks for this amazing offer!

Hi @yongnuni -- Less than 10 minutes, nice! Great to hear the install through ctrl went smoothly and you're liking AdminBolt so far :) Making it easy to get up and running is exactly what we wanted. Thank You for giving it a spin and sharing your experience!

@dustinc can we expect BF GA thread to get the activity stats page running again? ;)

Ooh, I would love that! Did you revamp the interface/UI? It looks different from what I can remember! :)

Yes, its a bit different now, and I have plan to introduce possibilities to compare activities with previous events, but there were no more GAs, so the hype for making more changes was gone. When we have activity there again, I will invest more time ;)

Hi @MrEd -- Hahaha sweet, let's see if we can get that motivation going again -- we've got a party underway here, and BF is getting closer 👊

Hi @rahulchauhan86 -- That's awesome to hear, especially coming from someone who's used cPanel/WHM for a long time! Thank You for taking the time to try it out and share your feedback! Glad the setup went smoothly and you're enjoying the experience.

Good vibes all around, and plenty more to look forward to! 👊

ADMINBOLT - THE MODERN WEB HOSTING CONTROL PANEL!

  • Roe105Roe105 Member

I just tested the one-click installation of AdminBolt on my giveaway VPS. The interface is really beautiful and modern, and the installation was incredibly fast under 5 minutes. My personal use case isn't focused on web hosting, but for anyone looking to host sites easily, it seems like a very solid and fast control panel.

Sure, feel free to paste the following into the AI agent of your choice. I'm no design expert just a hobbyist so sorry if some of my terminology is off, but I'm sure an AI agent will be able to understand what I'm trying to say.

    Starting with panel in general.

    1. Overused font, choose something distinctive but readable.
    2. Notifications indicator on notifications tab positioning looks off, consider moving it closer. Text inside notifications badge is too large.
    3. Having "hostname" text and the hostname on separate lines looks odd, just show the hostname. Users will be able to recognize their own hostname. Hostname text should be larger. Or just remove it.

    The sidebar.

    1. The styling on focus on search input in sidebar is overused by AI agents, just use something generic like a normal outline or only change background color on focus.
    2. The area around the search input is white, the rest of the sidebar is gray. Make it consistent.
    3. Make the width of the search input and sidebar items consistent. Also the colors.
    4. The icons for the expandable sidebar items are larger than that of the rest of the sidebar icons. Make them consistent.
    5. Maybe remove the dividing lines between the sidebar items. Depends on how you decide to modify the sidebar.
    6. Again a maybe, consdier only showing badges in the sidebar when action is actually needed, the dashboard exists for a reason to see analytics.
    7. The rail to the left of expanded sidebar items looks a bit off when you hover over the sidebar item. Not advocating for removing it completely but definitely can be improved.

    The dashboard.

    1. This bento-style layout is overused by AI agents, consider switching to a more traditional dashboard layout.
    2. Don't add shadow/border on hover.
    3. "↑" should use an actual icon instead of unicode symbol. Better yet, remove it completely, another vibecoded telltale sign. Also, don't have title on top / number / icon layout. Replace with an icon set such as Lucide, etc.
    4. Don't use bars for server load.
    5. Only on "Top accounts by usage" the bottom fades to white (??) but not on Top domains. Just remove that.

    On accounts.

    1. Remove the lift/translateY transition on hover.
    2. Remove the shadow from the button. And get rid of that awful shimmer animation on hover.
    3. In the create account page, make the cards flat. Cards are flat on the dashboard, create a consistent design language.
    4. Password strength should be integrated into password input or at least below it, too much space used for password strength atm.
    5. The table looks awful. The table header - the checkbox has a white background, then the titles for Username - Cluster columns are gray, there's no title above Login (action btn) column and white again... ??

    On view account page.

    1. Why do you have a tab bar here. The only option is "View Hosting Account" - if there's only one option just nuke the tab bar ffs.
    2. There are way too many buttons in the header, enough tat it overflows. Pushes the header to wrap and buttons overflow off the screen.
    3. Remove that Active Provisioned bar with the vibecoded gradient. Or at least modify it so it doesn't have that gradient.
    4. Same feedback as dashboard on stats, cards, etc.
    5. Domains -- get rid of cards inside cards.
    6. Let user edit account from view account page perhaps.

On resellers page mostly same as view account page but oddly there is no checkbox/multiselect on resellers table (unlike accounts table)? Inconsistent. Use a consistent table component.

    Same with hosting packages.

Going to skip Email for now, mostly same feedback as above.

SSL going to mostly skip just don't have double tab bar.

    Health overview, similar to dashboard.

Metrics, have consistent card heights. Way too much visual space is wasted on Metrics. The cards in Metrics could be compacted into one row at the top.

Skipping rest of health for now, only thing I'll mention is under DNS domains health don't have a separate badge "Issues Found [1 errors]" just say "1 issue found"

I'll skip most of settings aside from:

    1. Background of sidebar is too dark compared to rest of site.
    2. Tab bar overflows onto two lines. Try to avoid that. You already have subitems in settings sidebar. Why that plus tabs? IMO use tabs sparingly try to move into subitems.

Well that's my unsolicited feedback, feel free to ignore but IMO would be much better if these were addressed! This is of course my opinionated feedback so others may disagree. But either way, hope it is helpful.

All good, I think main thing is just make it consistent -- come up with a design language first and try to follow it across all pages, makes a huge difference!
