    Hi,
you if you have payment problems, you can always contact our support to resolve the issue. Our system does not charge for cancelled/terminated services since there is no invoice issued. But if the subscription is still ongoing as kept by the customer, the funds might still be sent. We have no need to charge for services that we no longer provide.

I'm a GreenCloud customer too, and this kind of handling is genuinely concerning.

If it was just a single VPS that got compromised, I think a reasonable and perfectly acceptable approach would be: suspend/power off the server first, then email the customer to explain what happened and let them investigate and fix it. Like BandwagonHost does — if CPU load stays over a certain threshold for a certain number of hours, they suspend the server directly, and after the customer troubleshoots and resolves the issue, they can power it back on themselves from the panel. That's actually a pretty mature mechanism: it controls the risk while still giving the customer a chance to remediate.

But terminating the entire account outright, the way GreenCloud did here, really shakes my confidence. For anyone running a real business, that's a devastating blow. And honestly, a batch of servers usually shares the same deployment setup and software environment, so if one gets compromised, it's entirely plausible the others have the same vulnerabilities and could be compromised too — I understand that risk. But that's exactly why the reasonable response should be to suspend everything first, notify the customer, and give a deadline to remediate — not a one-strike permanent ban of the whole account.

I hope GreenCloud will publicly clarify whether this was a "suspension" or a "permanent termination," which specific ToS/AUP provision it was based on, and why no remediation opportunity was offered. Otherwise, this kind of handling really does affect whether long-time customers feel safe renewing and keeping their business there.

Please read the full thread. A compromised VPS is not the reason for the account termination. The OP was caught engaging in hacking/abuse - that is why the account was terminated. While I cannot share full details publicly, several factors led us to this conclusion. As you can judge from his own statements in this thread, his story keeps changing: first he claimed one VPS was compromised, then that his Discord account was hacked, then that his computer had malware, and finally he blamed his AI.

I really hope you were joking when you said uceprotect was one of those factors. It casts doubt as to the quality of the other factors. Not saying the guy isn't an abuser, but citing uceprotect? Really?

We have seen people blaming UCEProtect but in most cases from our side, UCEProtect is correct.

Please consider using a more reputable blacklist, not one run by a self-professed incel who admits to preemptively blacklisting entire ranges so they become unusable once allocated until an extortion fee is paid.

If you want to be delisted, you have to pay them a fee. And if you refuse or complain in the email, they'll dox you. They even admit to it. That's their business model. I thought this was well-known.

Where did I misuse this service? I just got hit by malware today. Read this first—I’ve been patient enough. Of all the services I use, only a few were affected; I’ve already isolated the rest—what an idiot—unless, of course, I was actually using them for illegal activities.

Are you stupid, bro? I built my website using AI, and there was a plugin with malware in it that infected my computer. Do you think that malware only took my Discord? Your argument is so stupid. Everything on my computer was stolen, you idiot. If you need proof, I’ve already offered it in the chat, and you accessed my computer—I haven’t cleaned it up at all yet; I just logged out of the session

  • kimjeskimjes Member

If the virus only infects Discord, no one will spread the virus anymore.

Dude, I’ve explained this so many times—I’m even willing to do it on the computer—but he just ignores me, and now he suspects I’m doing this just to look good in front of other people? That’s basically the same as stealing.

  • kimjeskimjes Member

Did I say something inappropriate earlier? I even tried to find a compromise by giving up my 3 VPSs, and I don’t mind if they reactivate the 5 they suspect—but there’s been no decision, and yet they’re accusing me here? How is this any different from stealing?

Actually, I don’t know where it came from, but I think it’s because of AI—since I’m currently developing a lot of AI tools for my website, which is why I bought so many VPS servers. The plan is to set up one cluster for each tool because I currently have a lot of clients. I’m grateful for this high volume of business, but then this suddenly happened. I’m even ready to provide any evidence that’s needed. At HostKey, I have 12 VPS servers; at HostBrr, I have 6; and at HostSailor, I have 2. I’m ready to show you all my tools and even provide legal documentation from my country.

However, regardless of the origin of this malware—or whatever it is, I mean—their response was extremely unprofessional and strange

    yea

  • Provider's tos is crystal clear on this tbh. If your box lands on a blacklist they have full discretion to axe the whole account with no refunds. It's a budget host, nobody is paying staff to hold your hand through abuse tickets

Blaming a rogue ai for brute forcing while you were asleep is comedy gold though. Silicon supplants the brain; algorithms replace thought

You gave up root to some script and the host nuked the account strictly by the book. Expensive lesson for low-end boxes but totally on script

You're so bad at OpSec, that your friends has to call you to check instagram? Doesn't it occur to you to vibecode a solution for your problem instead of depending on obscure binary?
