Okay, why am I getting bombarded with notifications from this thread?🙂
I do not remember clicking anything.🤔

    Did you press the star?

Okay, thank you! I forgot about the star thing. I rechecked it, and it was starred for some reason; it might have been a mistake on my part.

Not mistake, you just have very fat fingers. As my-self.

I think just having a registered, verifiable business is enough.

Let the community dig into ownership details to sniff out potential previous fraudsters and deadpoolers.

I do like that LowEndSpirit allows community voting for new providers before allowing them to advertise there. Could be done here.

    here it becomes a war...

what about if we just reject provider tags when the provider is a shitbag

Biloh should just implement AI grading for providers and have AI ban providers who don't meet the strict AI generated criteria for successful hosts.

So more or less scale down the LET revenue to ~$1-2k?!

    Should 1-man operations be banned?

No, because the success of a business does not depend on how many employees work for the company.

It depends. What if 1-man operation stops due to owner death? 2 owbers can cover each other.

It's a good point but it's one more reason out of the 50 reasons to maintain your own backups if you have any data that's actually important, right? Personally I don't plan on dying anytime soon as I'm only 32, and am a healthy adult with a lifestyle that doesn't depend on dangerous things or drugs/alcohol.

There's also people that would probably like that multiple people don't have access to their data. It's the second reason why I haven't hired anyone (besides the fact that I simply don't need to), even with safeguards in place, it's another person that has access to client data. Unless you employ people you know in person, in real life, there's always a risk for something malicious (intentionally or not) even if tiny.

You still have @Rubben as your backup CEO right :D ? Haven't seen him lately

a polish femboy is keeping me quite busy nowadays

  • I keep a notice to myself (with exceptions)

Only use providers with owned hardware
Only use providers woth actual office
Only use peociders with actual asn/network
Only use providers at least X years in business
    Chexk rewievs...
Open a support ticket and ask sometho g stupid
Call the hotline, after you get connected, just say "ah sorry wrong number" (notice the time? Do they have shitty bots?)
    And bunch more...

If right now a host would offer me any server on earth for 1 year free i would skip unless the ruccuring price is so.ething im willing to pay

Migrating is shit, and unless it's yet another backup location, im not willing to gamble
