Can I get an offshore VPS here?
in General
Can I get an offshore VPS here? For a software download website? With the 3 B's (good, beautiful, and cheap).
Comments
Do you mean the VPS is on an island or so?
It probably means to ignore the DMCA.
Wow, I was thought offshore mean you put the server under the sea or on some island, like for cooling.
There aren't any from overseas here.
offhore ie netherlands, romania that usually ignore dmca
No
Ok
No, every single provider here is based in your country.
And if it isn't they will set up a new datacenter ASAP
Ignoring dmca is a crime in the Netherlands.
Same goes for Romania.
But I gave up on explaining this.. LET folks will never learn a thing.
hostcay.com
Since when is US law applicable in the EU, DSA isnt DMCA
“Same goes for Romania.” Ce?
really?
why some providers aren't in jail then?
It is not
EU (and most other non EU countries) just have own laws that require the provider to act once they are aware of an issue.
Getting a DMCA request, even while not legally binding in the EU, does make you aware of the issue which in turn, forces you to act.
They are?
Not a daily event, but DC did get raided in the past
I am not aware of any DC or hosting provider who is, or was in jail because of DMCA.
but I know dozen of them who ignore DMCA for 20+ years already, some even more.
the one you talk about was raided because they were directly running IPTV operation and that was sole purpose of that "dc"
Its was not the sole purpose, lol
Just the majority, just like with most DMCA ignored providers
Farting is certainly an act. You have to do fuck all if the request doesnt fullfill the requirements.
Hell getting Cloudflare to even move their ass upon being notifified of a phishing page is a monumental task.
This page here is an amazon phishing page https://routinegenauigkeit.downu.net/?GLBCgVnXffLZML
It routes you depending on your ip/network. If youre in swiss/austrian/german on a residential asn, you get the amazon phishing page. Otherwise you get a crap blogpage or dicks sporting goods. That page was reported in mid september and the idiots have done fuck all. So much to "you have to act upon gaining knowledge"

Cloudflare, as a US company, is trying to doge liability since for ever now with the argument that they only a network operator and are not actually hosting the content.
Try to report something that is actually hosted with them, like on their storage service, and they react within minutes
But like, all of this is not even worth the discussion.
If it’s legal or illegal to provide DMCA ignored services in the EU is not really something up for discussion I hope.
Sure there are a bunch of providers out there willing to take the risk. The risk is probably also not that high considering it usually needs a copyright holder who is willing to take the fight just for the sake of it.
But I also never claimed otherwise.
I just said it’s not legal.
One is free to believe in whatever religion they believe in.
Although yes there is always that slight possibility that they (the states) do attempt to pull a Maduro on you for a Kiddo that sends a DMCA for shits and giggles and is upset that one does not give a shit about it. But otherwise, just no.
Edit:
Replace Kiddo with that Muppet "Kiddo Eric Green"
It just redirects me to google.com
Fancy, thats a new one. At least to me.
If youre on a "good" net, this happens
https://files.catbox.moe/n59lko.mp4
the best bit is, they even send their shitty phishing mail over the domain
Edit: Should mention. As far as i know, the owner of the domain is not real. My knowledge sadly stops at official places, so its unknown to me if either, Cloudflare refused to comply or the owner is just straight up fake, which i suspect.
no
The owner of dc was co-owner of IPTV service, that's why he was raided.
there was no other clients.
