  when they basically dont have their own asn and lg (not always biggest red flag, but usually could means they just using reseller panel/or just bought few dedis and few ips subnets from bigger hosting). im avoiding hosts who dont have asn

  shitty payment methods (just crypto and paypal for example), good card payment providers must be there (like mollie or stripe)

  the good ones already listed so;

  • has history of deadpooling.
  • caught snooping on customer files. spicy or not, no exceptions.
  • the vm provisioning system is persistently creating a certain user with it's own ssh pubkey. creepyfucks.
  • presence in forum or community hub are relying too much on AI.
  • uses virtualizor

  Not redflags, but yellow flags:

  • Sale around the year
  • Failing system or hardware left unfixed for more than a week
  • overselling with steal above 50% (VPS) or severely limited disk/network
  • 1-man shop without backup support that could take care of the hosting infrastructure during illness, force majeure events

  I'll be honest - AI generated websites in of themselves don't bother me. Website work is ass and I know some amazing sysadmins who think a plain text site with no CSS is the best thing ever. If anything - means they're taking the easy path on the things they hate to focus on the stuff they enjoy (running servers/building infrastructure. My biggest focus is (if they're a provider based in an English speaking country): Is the grammar/spelling correct, is there some information about the founder/team on the site.

  this is what i was thinking, like I also have had like 2-3 diff frontends one shotted by AI, but we still get customers cause of the backend side of things and the service, and the frontends very extremely bad for a visual guy, current is a lil better tho still AI
