I opened a ticket but just to know, is anyone else having connection issues? Like inconsistent speeds (moments where transfers are super fast, alternating with "pauses" or connection drops)?

I have a couple that completely drop the network exactly every 4 hours for 2-3 minutes.

Having exactly same, TCP and ssh drops around 4 hours apart each since I bought the seedbox, found a solution?

Ticket #793787 (just made ticket, just putting for refference not expecting instant replies)

Yup, we just talked about that on the Discord. Started in the last 2-3 days I'd say.

pulses is my seedbox and pulsed is my storage box, so it's clearly not the network. They're not much faster with eachother either, but as I'm busy trying to rescue data I haven't really taken the time to create a ticket.
Pulsed will see this anyway and know that I have the issue as well so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@PulsedMedia How often do you update the bonus weeks?

    You mean the giveaway?

Has not started yet for this thread, i guess @jbiloh or @angstrom will delete this thread as soon as we do give them out or maybe the silence and fuzzy rules means there is no idea if this thread will be deleted once we start handing those out.

FYI, you look pathetic saying shit like this. So annoying.

Don't read it then, it is easy.

Bit of a catch 22. Weird that you like reading it, but there's weirdos into everything on the internet.

  • The Eternal Story: TICKET #015132

I bought a Paimenpilli Trophy Seedbox when they were offered, I was assigned the Oscar node, before it was cool B) . At first the server performance was pretty good. However, when the Dragon-R Trophy 100 Years GiveAway AND Kantele Trophy seedboxes both dropped and a bug caused something like 331TiB of service to be provisioned to the Oscar server with like 70TiB(?) of actual storage (I don't recall exact numbers)

On about September 5th, 2026, Oscar service became unusable via SSH or HTTP(s) by myself and just about everyone. So I created Ticket #089745 - Extremely slow performance to advise of service issues. On September 6th, 2026, Väinämöinen confirmed the performance issues but didn't have any timeline for a fix. Then I got an email from Pulsed Media/Väinämöinen advising they were aware of them server issues and offering a solution of EITHER a free server migration OR re provisioning (with +1 free months service credit due to inconvenience of data loss), I responded to the email and got Ticket #015132, I asked for re provisioning because I didn't have anything irreplacable on there. While waiting for the new server, I ran a new YABS.

Väinämöinen responded that I had actually got 2 emails for 2 different servers identified as having issues and needed confirmation. 1 I did have data I didn't want to have to re-setup (but ultimately replaceable). So I asked for 1 OSCAR to be re-provisioned with data loss but +1 month of service and my other service on RADON to be data migrated.

I double confirmed via ticket the re-provisioning of OSCAR service on September 10, 2026 Väinämöinen created the new service and gave me the new service on Admiral node. Unfortunately, the performance were not as good my original YABS from OSCAR before the issues.

And I responded on the same day

Noticed two issues, the IOPS seems low for admiral service. Like it needs the cgroup v1/PMSS update we did on Ticket #980577. Additionally, and this was my concern switching servers, the Geekbench 6 performance dropped dramatically from Single core 727 and Multi core 4555 on Oscar to just 235 and 837 respectively.

Is this expected performance for this service tier or is another server move needed?

And now I am awaiting a response since September 10, 2026.

    So overall mixed results.

/dev/random is slow source, use /dev/zero.
random requires CPU to generate ... well random numbers :)

That machine has enough CPU (4+ Gbit/s to other nodes); I didn't want compression to be a factor. Speeds improved aproximately 4x when I tested a few hours ago - I blame the Americans for using their products like they own the place ;D

with only about 27 years of experience i can say that /dev/random is not the right source for I/O speed tests. But what do i know 🤷

No solution yet, still trying to get it resolved. This actually happens on all but a couple boxes I have there. I think it is something at the KVM level.

Yeah I'm sure it is happening to a lot of people but they just don't know it. I'm going to add more information to the ticket to hopefully help them track it down.

Fair point - but the problem seems to be resolving regardless and to be totally clear none of this was a complaint but me trying to assist (and that's also why I didn't create a ticket). Sorry if it came across otherwise!

  • The Eternal Story: TICKET 915340

A while ago, my server suddenly went completely offline and was totally unreachable out of nowhere. I rely on this service daily for my remote storage mounts, so I opened ticket #915340 in a panic wondering if something broke on the node or with the network routes. Väinämöinen support picked it up quickly, checked the physical host and routing, and got the node completely restored and reachable again in a short time without any data loss. Really appreciated the fast diagnosis and fix back then!
