OVH India network issue
Anyone facing OVH India network issue today? We are facing lots of ping loss.
I recently moved to OVH from another provider due to Network related issue and after 2 months of using we are facing the same! Also it is very painful to contact their support team. A lot of people from here recommend me OVH. Is there anyone facing the issue or just me?

well considering the infra of the entire countries network, i'd suspect this is normal operation
Well, in India they still have to rely on major carriers like Airtel, Tata, and Jio. So if one of these big networks has an issue, OVH can also get affected.
The main problem is that India still doesn’t have that many carrier options compared to other regions.
But things are improving. Cogent is here now, and hopefully more international carriers will enter the market too. Once that happens, providers will have more routing options and better redundancy.
This is hamperring my reputation. First got butchered by Serverwala and now OVH. It seems the issue is in whole countries infra.
I just moved two and half month ago from Serverwala due to the same issue! Leave there almost 7 month renewal. Moved OVH with higher price. But it seems India is still not ready for serious network connection.
Thinking to move to SGP but it will cost more and headache!
The biggest issue, in my opinion, is that the current system makes it extremely difficult for small businesses to enter and compete in certain industries, while a few large players seem to have an advantage.
A few months ago, Yotta suffered a data breach. Our servers were hosted through Serverwala, which was using Yotta’s data centre infrastructure. We received very little information about the incident, and I couldn't find any significant news about it for almost a month.

Another incident made me even more concerned. At one point, only users on the Jio network were unable to access our websites, while users on other networks could access them normally. I still don't know exactly what caused the issue, but when an entire network can effectively become unable to reach your customers, it shows how vulnerable small hosting providers can be.
I've also seen large provider shifting Indian customers to Singapore. GoDaddy, selling Indian hosting but putting them in Singapore server. Similar situation with Hostinger too. I have few clients there as well.
I don’t think Yotta itself was compromised. It looks more like Reliance’s servers hosted at Yotta were compromised.
The problem is that they haven’t clearly explained how the attackers initially gained access, so there isn’t enough transparency to know what actually happened.
There are many possibilities. Someone with authorized access, such as Reliance staff or remote hands, could have made a mistake or exposed something. It could also have had nothing to do with physical access at all, the attacker may simply have gained access remotely over the internet through stolen credentials, an exposed service, or a vulnerability.
Without technical details about the initial point of compromise, we simply can’t say for sure how it happened.
Generally, large companies like Reliance operate from dedicated cages and often restrict access so tightly that even data-center remote hands are not allowed inside without specific authorization.
As far i know OVH also uses YOTTA,
And Hostinger uses WebWerks/Iron Mountain DC, Same DC we use, i see alot of shipment of Hostinger shipment in Webwerks when we visit. They maybe using others too, i dont know.
Actually i am seeing quite opposite, singapore is already full, there is no room left there, price is damm high, so i see alot of asian customer moving to india.
But i agree india has alot to learn for now, I myself using foregn datacenters service and when comparing to india i see alot of things needs to be improved. i had alot of fight with webwerks/IMDC team regarding improving services etc.
Now after full takeover by Iron Mountain, i finally see things are improving.
Regarding network issue you have faced, i dont think whole OVH was down, is it ?
Because we also use TATA, Airtel, JIO we didnt see any recent network problem, so whatever was the issue it was inside dc, inside ovh network, or maybe your switch/router level where your server was connected.
And your MTR shows basically nothing, it doesnt show how traffic moving.
only bom1-ynm1-g1-8k.in.asia, which is ovh hostname for mumbai network. one of their hop i guess.
Try vultr, I have been using them for wireguard vpn.... My home network speed is 200Mbps and I always reach the full speed !!

No don't, managing it will be a hassle if you don't have a local presence (like a registered entity or something).
Do it.... but as @TrK said we do have new regulations like DPDP and telecom regulation act. But I dont think its necessary to open a Indian subsidiary if volume is low. Maybe @webhorizon can give some input as they are already running servers in India.
