IPXO New Token based payments

I was told by IPXO staff that they have begun accepting tokens only for services such as LOAs and ROIs, with a minimum $25 token top-up required.

The problem is that these services often cost less than the minimum top-up amount, which means customers are always forced to deposit more money than they actually need to spend. I told them that it is difficult to see this as anything other than a way to gradually extract additional money from their customers by leaving unused balances sitting in their accounts and money in their pockets.

Envato Market used a similar prepaid-credit system years ago and eventually moved away from it after receiving widespread complaints.

In my view, this is another poor decision that creates unnecessary friction for customers and makes the service feel less transparent. Unfortunately, decisions like this seem to be increasingly common.

The other way to look at it is that they just want to eliminate micro transactions.
If you are a LIR with IP space - $25 are peanuts compared to your overall general expenses.

Much of IPXO transactions are much higher than $25

We might have to readjust your definition of micro transaction as clearly, 100usd is still considered micro 🤣

As a LET user, the mandatory answer is less than $7 :)

Annoying but $25 is not unreasonable.

The IP announcement fee has increased by one dollar.
