lmao still blatantly ignoring the complaints in your other threads?
can you also address why your claim of "1 free IPv6 per VPS" is just false?

@antonpa You haven't responded to the other threads.

Could you confirm whether we are allowed to run Globalping probes, ATLAS probes, and Tor middle relays? Can you confirm that our services will not be suspended for false abuse complaints and, if they are, that they will be unsuspended when we reply and explain the situation?

I'm sure you've been dealing with a lot of abuse on your network, but your system is causing substantial collateral damage. At the very least, you should whitelist users such as @zGato and myself from suspension while you fine-tune your security system. Neither of us are spammers or abusers. We are both loyal, long-term customers who want to feel safe using your services. The lack of responsiveness is the only reason I have not purchased more VPSes or recommended your services to people in other threads.

Hello you're right that we owe you an answer here โ€” not dodging it.

On IPv6: the "free IPv6" block on our site refers to our IPv6-only plans, where you don't pay for an IPv4 at all, and to plans where IPv6 is included. It does not mean an IPv6 address can be added to any VPS in any location โ€” IPv6 is not available in some locations (FRA2, HEL2, PAR2, MAD2, STO2, SEA1, CHI1, DUB1, ZRH2), which is why support told you it can't be added separately there. That wording is misleading as written and we're fixing it: the site will state which locations include IPv6 and which don't.

As for your own service โ€” please open a ticket with the service ID. We'll look at what's possible in your location and do it if we can.

On the abuse notices โ€” I'm answering @forest below, and it applies to you and your Globalping/Atlas probes too.

  • RU locations?

Hello! Thank you for your patience, and apologies for the delay in replying.

I cannot give a blanket guarantee upfront that the service won't be restricted in any given scenarioโ€”it is better to be direct about this than to promise something that might not hold true later. Here is how it works in practice: if the service is restricted, please reply to the ticket with an explanation. We review each case individually and will do our best to help restore the service to normal operation.
If there is a specific service you are concerned about, please contact support with its ID; we will look into it specifically and resolve the issue.

MOW1 didn't have IPv6 when I purchased it a while ago. It does now, and has for a while. I asked support to add the free IPv6 address included in my plan, but that's the response I received. Why do I have to purchase the IPv6 add-on in this case? It's already included in the plan (1x IPv4 and 1x IPv6).

I have probably opened over 30 tickets to appeal your suspensions. Every single one of them, except on a few rare occasions, resulted in my suspensions being lifted. This is simply due to the fact that you don't even have a proper packet capture proving that I actually attempted an SSH/FTP handshake, which is required for a brute-force attack. A simple TCP connection to a specific port is literally not a brute-force.

Based on the response you gave @forest, basically there's nothing we can do, and we have to keep opening tickets, bothering your staff, about false abuse reports triggered by your own system. Am I getting this right?
Until you decide (like you have with me previously) to just tell me to fuck off:

Either it's allowed within ToS and customers should at least get some leniency to respond before a service gets restricted, or it isn't and they should take their business elsewhere.
Playing restricted service support ticket whack-a-mole makes no sense, and seems like a big waste of everyone's time.

Not a customer (and definitely not enticed to be at this point) but I've been following the discourse and this is getting ridiculous.

I may be wrong, but based on my own back-and-forth experiences with this host's support, I've gotten the impression that this host isn't really in control of the infrastructure they sell.
I mean literally - it feels as if they're just reselling someone else's infrastructure or something.

No matter what happened, for example, when the network was down or a VPS wasn't synced with the control panel after their migration, the best they could tell me was always and I really mean always "Try changing the IP. Change it as many times as needed and eventually it will work".
And of course, it didn't. The system kept assigning me various IPs and gateways that weren't even related to any active location. And they couldn't do a shit.
I've been with them for years, but some of the things that happened with them lately were, honestly, catastrophic. For example, at one point they closed some of their locations and automatically migrated customers to the closest available location. In my case, they migrated me to Austria, which wasn't even active at that point, so naturally there was no way to get that VPS online.
But they didn't even know it- they didn't realize, that host node I was assigned to don't exist and that's why my VPS don't work.

Or at one point, when they migrated their old location to MOW2, the VPS wasn't synced with the control panel, so none of the controls worked. Yet they insisted that I swap the IP, reinstall the VPS, or move it to another location. How was I supposed to do any of that when everything was greyed out because the VPS wasn't synced with the control panel?
    And so on...
I'm pretty sure you people don't get answers simply because the host can't give them to you as it's not actually in control of that infrastructure. That's the only logical explanation here.
Just go through some of your own tickets and you'll realize that the person answering you often doesn't have a basic understanding of what you're talking about or what they're supposed to do. And itโ€™s not a language barrier. As if they weren't even in the hosting industry.

  • @antonpa can you also comment on why you migrated Zagreb to Tirana without any warning whatsoever. I had to figure it out myself, and your support is refusing a refund.

that's certainly the impression i get from all their offer threads, not that it's proof of anything (or that there's anything wrong with being resellers or middlemen of course).

  • @antonpa said: Here is how it works in practice: if the service is restricted, please reply to the ticket with an explanation. We review each case individually and will do our best to help restore the service to normal operation.

I am fine with doing that as many times as needed, but support told me that continued issues could result in permanent blocking. We need you to confirm that that is not the case for false-positive reports.

  • @Mumbly said: I may be wrong, but based on my own back-and-forth experiences with this host's support, I've gotten the impression that this host isn't really in control of the infrastructure they sell.

I don't think so. Once their support AI told me I could upgrade RAM at any time so I bought 1 GB planning to upgrade to 1.5 GB later. But when I opened a ticket they said the bot was just wrong and they couldn't do that. However the support apologized and said he'd manually increase it to 1.5 GB as an exception, so they can definitely control at least some configuration.

Unfortunately I later migrated that service and the RAM dropped back down to 1 GB, and support (a different support person) said they couldn't bring it back to 1.5 GB and seemed not to understand that it was possible as the previous support did it. After a bit of complaining, they did eventually refund the amount I paid to get the upgrade to 1.5 GB the first time, so it wasn't a huge loss.

@antonpa I just received three more abuse reports, all for Globalping connections. Please look into this.

Edit: Although the reports have been resolved, it's important to make changes to your system so these false-positives no longer occur.

I also got one from Servers Guru due to a single AbuseIPDB complaint. And someone else got one from SiteHub due to a single AbuseIPDB complaint (from xmission). I wonder if some popular blacklist aggregator that many providers use started suddenly including every single AbuseIPDB complaint in their feed.

Speaking of xmission, I'm in a live chat with them right now. They had tweaked the auto-reporting script but it didn't work, apparently. They're going to push it through with their L2 support during business hours.

Yeah, those two will suspend for literally one AbuseIPDB report. I've tried have them understand how absurd that is, but they ignored me. It's only a matter of time until someone floods their subnets and they'd be forced to change their shit, like it's already happened previously with VeloxMedia.

    By the way, :joy:

    Another one:

People are just having fun with us, I guess. @antonpa care to comment?

  • @jimaek can we have some sort of protection in globalping's end so people can't query common exploit paths?

Servers Guru was very understanding and didn't suspend anything, they just asked for a statement. I'm surprised SiteHub would do that though... Surely they would know that a single AbuseIPDB report isn't actionable.

And yep, retrokitty.net is exactly what hit me too. I sent off an email to them (it's on their about me page). You may want to do it as well so they realize the collateral damage they're causing due to their use of a WAF called "Wordfence Security".

Yeah servers guru didn't outright suspend me either, but for a single dummy AbuseIPDB report they're already having us open a ticket and explain? like lmao.
