Industry price on ASN

LeviLevi Veteran

Planning to own an ASN (ipv4/ipv6). What would be the cheapest, but still reliable pricing nowadays?

    I wish…

  • You have an entire sticky thread for that so it would be more suitable to ask there:
    https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/160162/aio-ip-related-ipv4-ipv6-asn-thread-only-providers-lirs-are-allowed-to-post-offers#latest

The question is very vague because it depends on the RIR you want to register with, the
lease lengh terms (monthly, annually, etc), would you rent a /24 block with it as well, etc.

ASN without any IPs is around 70-100€, sometimes you get some IPv6 for free with it.

I'm assuming RIPE. ARIN/APNIC/etc. is a different story.

ASN: ~€60/yr, usually a one-time fee as well.
    IPv4 /24: €75-100/mo
IPv6: some LIRs include a free /48 PA with your ASN, otherwise usually dirt cheap €10-30/yr.

Nopkt would be cheapest in public offers,

@RickBakkr would be your go to guy for everything networking.

Ripe. I need an asn to rent ipv4 cheaply (found a source). So what steps would include to get asn no?

Is this a recurring payment ?

LIR pays this to RIPE they can technically charge you more.

Yearly fees, requirements for upstream (not enforced) and very specific jargon. You MUST know networking at least in advanced mode.

    Hey @Levi,

We do this as a RIPE LIR, operating as Threatoff. 69.99€/yr plus a 19.99€ one-time setup, and a /48 IPv6 is included rather than extra.

On the process, it's straightforward from your side. You provide your organisation details, we submit the request to RIPE with a short justification of why you need your own AS number, which for BGP with an upstream is routine. Once assigned you manage maintainer, RPKI, ROAs and rDNS yourself in our panel.
