hei
Question about internal traffic, Väinämöinen wasn't certain(Ticket #436375), how to determine if my services are in the same datacenter or different datacenters?
And if my seedbox and storage box are in different data centers is "internal" data between them treated as internal or external?
EDIT - I did some ping tests between services and noticed some response "this-is-hosted-by.magnacapax.fi" and others are more typical ip addresses.
We are waiting Elisa to repair the DWDM, and our DC hands on guy was saying he will get the first half a rack setup within a week.
That being said, i am myself incredibly busy so no ETA when they hit the sales page yet.
Yes, the MD series but currently out of stock with no ETA.
Yes, PM offerings are pretty much similar to any other seedbox provider out there with shared app slots. I have used their M1000 boxes for torrenting (nov 2024 offers anyone?) and they can down single torrents at 200MB/s or 3-4 at that combined rate. Upload speeds are not much (50-60MBps at max) but I can't really complain at the price I got it.
PM storage boxes will work great for doing LTS and not racing (haven't used their ssd boxes) your linux iso's.
Oughta mention that speeds matter more on many factors like the peering, network speeds of your peers, routing from finland to NL, disk i/o etc etc.
Waiting for the new annual offer personally, hoping something pops up by this weekend.
Racing is hard. Many people are on bigger pipe and on the other side of the planet. That's why there's a niche for @PulsedMedia dedi or people using their own residential connection
Yes, there's no way to compete with people running 25G dedi boxes with any shared seedbox no matter what libtorrent tuning we do. Not unless you grab a dedi yourself or else have to be satisfied with ratios of 1,2,3:1 xD
Yes, and i would add https://wiki.pulsedmedia.com/ has plenty of information, there is also installer for https://www.linuxserver.io/our-images docker containers etc. and Väinämöinen will help you further.
The possibilities are nearly as abundant as an VPS -- since you can essentially run an VPS in these. Just launch the Ubuntu docker container
This is quite interesting, we should porobably do a wiki page doing comparisons like this.
The default setup is indeed very very RAM frugal.
Typical user uses less than 1G. It's all about page cache/disk buffering ultimately.
We have plenty of 128-256G nodes where RAM use is like ... 25G

It's our own network, should eventually update the wording that both our DCs are covered.
The "free" IP range is set by backend automation into the /etc/seedbox/config directory, fdorgot filename. Afaik that is readable. might need tobe exposed on GUI INFO tab tho.
That is well put and worded. 👍
... yet that is the usual complain, why our 5€/month 1Gbps offer cannot compete with 50-100G NVMe RAID offer :O ... i wish i was joking.
These are not for racing, they are more like trucks than ferraris. Haul a lot of tonnage (data), but with latency.
You should have upsell your dedi
To bad it's OOS
That's the plan when it is done
But .... Well delay after another.
FYI, qbit 5.2.3 seeding the same torrents is consuming 45-65mb, so not a ton more.
Offtopic but something that I noticed from the Eternal Vainamoinen (excuse the spelling my keeb doesn't do special chars) page - the rating of customers at the top of the page doesn't seem to be a permanent number.
At the start of August I had noticed that it said
Rated 8.1/10 by our own...and now its gone down to7.9/10so at least that seems honest.I don't think many providers would display real customer ratings like that or at the very least cherry-pick the best reviews for their site. Just yday I remember seeing a newish vps/dedi provider's site saying "trusted by tens of thousands of customers". So if this is actually real then kudos to you @PulsedMedia I liked seeing that.
yep:
This is regularly posted in their discord channel as well as other stats how their AI is doing. Looking at the page source, that value seems to come from: https://pulsedmedia.com/data/v1/csat.json
yes that is real past 30days.
Plummeting because of edge cases and a myriad of new users.
But also it was 9.46/10 or so a month ago so ... that's borderline impossible by human support.
My own personal lifetime average is 8.46/10. And i am The BOFH 🤣🤣
Ah is that so? I oughta get down to that server then once I manage to find a deal restocked on their page xD
Plummeting because of edge cases and a myriad of new users.
Yes I understood that as the deal thread was shared on LET and other places so a lot of people will have flocked in and tanked the ratings. BUT I appreciate the fact that it wasn't hidden.
On another note, still waiting for restocks on the seedboxes and the new trophy to come online. I need me something to purchase this weekend asap
