1GServers outage?

aruaru Member

It looks like 1GServers may be having a major outage.

Some of my servers were unexpectedly rebooted about an hour ago, and now all of my servers are unreachable. Their customer portal (portal.1gservers.com) is also unreachable from my side.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

A few hours ago, I received a reply about an overheating issue with a third-party device.

And I got a lot of nvme drive health warnings for high temperatures and failing nvme drives?

    Fingers crossed.

Please tell me this is not what it looks like.

(server though was still reachable a few minutes ago but I shut it down now as it seems to have a temperature prob)

Edit: another one at 1g is not showing these probs. Cooling problem in one area/room/aisles of the DC?

  • aruaru Member

Those reports are pretty concerning. The fact that some of my servers rebooted before the network went completely down would also fit a cooling or power-related facility issue rather than a simple network outage.

With overheating already being mentioned and multiple NVMe temperature/health warnings showing up, I’m starting to suspect there may have been a broader cooling failure that eventually caused systems or infrastructure to shut down.

Still speculation, of course, but the pieces seem to fit.

Yes, i'm not a hardware buff at all. So cannot tell what is happening. For Phoenix it's also quite early in the day.

So let's hope for the best and wait for any signals from them.

  • @1gservers The same happens to me.

Getting the same with my box too! Glad it’s not just me. Im sure they’ll fix it shortly!

    Same here

"Same" as in server down (or up and down and up, that is: network) or as in: temperature warnings on disks/systems/etc?

E.g. the second one i have in that dc is just flipping network atm but so far do not see a temperature problem on that machine.

Can’t connect to my box, ping or mtr etc. it’s completely offline. I wasn’t sshed in couldn’t see reboot logs or any temp warnings

  • I ordered a server for $54, but now they’ve sent me an invoice for $89. Have you ever encountered this situation?

  • massinmassin Member

same here - NVME drive started throwing heating and block errors. Then it just shutdown. Can't even reach the 1Gservers portal or website at the moment. Concerning.

they should have a status website

  • Sounds like the DC on fire

Is anyone in the mood for a barbecue? or only me

  • OhJohnOhJohn Member

ok, with several here reporting temperature problems it really seems to be a cooling problem.

    Or they are on fire.

I thought they had run away; I was terrified. I didn’t even have any backups of my data. QWQ

I make a mistake. one of my servers still alive, but with high temperature.
    Package id 1: +92.0°C (high = +93.0°C, crit = +103.0°C)

second one down as well now, but could be just the network for that second one.

  • smrgarbsmrgarb Member

Just checked the news and no word of fire 🔥

  • I would advise everyone to SHUTDOWN their servers if they can. To prevent any hardware failure.. Temps are rising and it can only get worse.

I still have network connectivity but the HDDs are cooking, so shutdown I did.. have a backup in another DC.

Yes, did that with the first when i still had connection.

Was not sure about the second one as it was not showing temps too high but than lost the network connection....

Would love to, alas already too late on this side by the time I got up and checked the logs to see CPU running at 106c before thermal shutdown triggered.

We'll see what survives I guess. Have a backup from 3 days ago at least.
