Bandwidth-optimized VPS in Cyprus or Malta
I'm looking for a VPS in Cyprus or Malta. Other islands on the Mediterranean sea may also work.
Minimum requirements:
- 1 vCPU (E5-26xx v4 or better preferred)
- 1.5 GB RAM
- 5 GB storage (any type)
- Unmetered bandwidth @ 30 Mbps or 100 Mbps @ 10 TB/month
- $100/year in cryptocurrency when paid annually or triennially (flexible)
I will be a long-term customer. My intention is to run a Tor middle relay (not an exit). I do not need a DMCA-ignored or bulletproof host and I do not expect any abuse complaints. Dual stack network strongly preferred.
I did look into @hostingb2b, but their terms seem to be extremely anti-privacy and seem not to distinguish between Tor middle relays (risk equivalent of a private VPN) and Tor exit relays (risk equivalent of an open proxy).
I would also like to avoid 4vps ("GLOBAL CONNECTIVITY SOLUTIONS LLP") due to quality concerns.

Maybe consult with @euronodes
Edit:
You can pretty much forget Malta.
Datacenter and hosting marketed there is more or less fully targeted towards those that absolutely need to host there for legal reasons.
So usually banks and gambling stuff, with an unlimited budget.
You kinda have the option to either make your yearly budget a monthly one.
Or find some Maltese person who offers you a raspberry in their closet.
(Since consumer internet is actually reasonable priced in comparison to what the 2 DCs there will offer you)
Yeah it seems like it. I can potentially double my budget but definitely not make it monthly!

Far as I know the bad rep they get is people trying to host not so nice things due to malta laws but they don’t allow, I had one while back didnt have issue.
They do not offer this actually, its SEO spam
Hi!
We offer Cyprus VPS hosting here; our latest plan includes 4.1 TB of traffic: https://infrawire.net/vps/cyprus
You can request additional bandwidth by submitting a support ticket.
It's for middle node of tor. Zero abuse report
Only ones I could think of with a bit higher bandwidth is https://www.mvps.net/ for cyprus
€1/TB with 20% discount on annual commit. Maybe @forest could haggle it with 3-5Y commit
almost 10tb for 86eur/yr (excl tax)
Yeah. But no crypto though. Are you going to resell it to him? Affiliate payout 15%. So, 85%*80%=68%
wdym, there is crypto. with 10% fee doe
Really? I only noticed paysera + jcc . But 10% fee is really expensive
CL8 https://cl8.com/
Pretty good for Cyprus.
Very expensive bandwidth
The only 3 tor nodes (1 relay 2 exit) in Cyprus are with cl8.
Did quick online search for you (Cyprus), seems BlueVPS and Edis Globalare the nearest match but from their website offers, budget needed is roughly 60%. You may want to contact them to check for customized offer? One of the 3 local nodes seems to be on BlueVPS (servers in CL8).
Probably NO crypto payment: maybe worth checking Netcy, Cyta cloud (Telecom), Primetel (Telecom), MTN (Telecom)
They really only service local companies or very large foreign companies. For example, I think Netflix has servers with Cyta.
Some random person or small company from abroad isn't going to get far, I think.
Yes for what i understand Cyta is government owned
Indeed. The name comes from Cyprus Telecommunications Authority.
Not related to server hosting, but Cyta mobile telephony is provided in partnership with Vodafone. But everyone still thinks of Cyta as fully state-owned and operated.
